**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

I think Walcott has got a good, effective final ball, don't know why people say otherwise. Must be because Arsenal only ever allow 1 player in the opposing penalty box, making it very hard for Walcott to pick out an Arsenal player when he's surrounded by 5 defenders. Times like at Anfield last year in the CL and this year in the PL he had excellent composure at the end of a very long run. I think his composure in the final third is one of his strong points.

I disagree, he has the odd good moment of composure (you can add the League Cup against Chelsea to that), but equally lets himself down time and again. He snatches at shots from outside the box, going for an Henry curler and just pea-rolling it into the keepers hands, or sending it sailing wide. He skins players down the wing and then overruns the ball, or makes a poor choice in terms of his final ball or simply delaying too long.

Yes, Tom84, it is because Real hate Manchester United, they're only buying players United wanted ;)
The biggest clubs in the World will all fight for the best players. Real just won another little race to sign a player.

Well can they polity **** off

Or if they cant stop spending money can they finally take Alonso from Liverpool instead of me just keep reading about it

Real Madrid, are trying to sign the best players they can, like several other top European clubs.

Don't blame Real Madrid, Blame Manchester United for not tieing the deal up quick enough, they've had more then enough time.

Why does no one want to play for United?

premier league champions for the last 3 years and won 1 out of two champions league finals in the last two

wtf?

Why join Real Madrid anyway? To get embarrasingly beaten 4-0 by Englands 2nd placed team?.... crazy.

Money, tax, weather, women and players this season claim to have this "natural" affiliation to Real Madrid. I must say, if I saw the worlds best players leaving Serie A and the Premiership to play in La Liga for Real Madrid I would be swayed.

AT the end of the day it is a JOB, we might love watching a 90 minute match, hell, several matches a week but thats not all it is for them, its training lots of hours every day, living, press conferences etc, etc. I'd prefer to play in Spain given the choice, the UK is a fairly different lifestyle to europe and I think especially as a star, people following you around for every single thing you do, from going to buy the paper to going on a romatic date you get hounded in the uk.

Its far more relaxed on the continent and players, especially those born in france, spain and Italy and the UK's a fairly different prospect for everything non football.

Tax rates, and the soon to be 50% tax rate is meaning a pretty hefty difference in wages.

THis will be the last season Real can spend this large an amount, this is a one off, they might manage one big player a year, but i'd think a 2-3 year gap before they get back to that. Most seasons one big club will have a big splurge, Chelsea, Liverpool have had their years, Barca, Utd got what, Hargreaves, Anderson, Nani was it and a couple others, spent a heck of a lot one year. Thats life.

It is frustrating how long the window is open and how long the rumours go on. Not interested in Real's business, they are buying a lot of top players, couldn't care less frankly, I really want to know exactly how Utd/Arsenal/chelsea are going to be improving their squads so we have an idea of how the seasons going to go. WHy can't Arsenal just buy a damn DM and get on with it.

I think with the current team being built you'd have to be daft to turn a move to Real Madrid down. It's certainly going to be a team full of very special players at this rate.

A Spurs fan shouldn't really laugh at a club being hyped up to signing a player and it not happening ;)

:D

Thats because there's no need for hype on who spurs will buy. The fans already know Harry will either buy old players back or his old players from pompy. ;)

That's the thing, you can't knock them really they have bought probably 3 of the 4 best players on the planet (most coveted anyway)

Only Messi they can't get.
