Totally agree. Scholes and Giggs are still excellent players but they are not capable of playing too many games any more, and if we get an injury or two in the central midfield area (which is bound to happen at some point during the season) we could be a bit short of cover.
I actually don't mind Fletcher that much anymore. Up until the 2007-2008 season I couldn't understand what Fergie saw in him, but both he and O'Shea have improved. As you say though, I wouldn't really class them as starting 11 material, simply reasonable cover in case somebody gets injured.
What about the left wing? Giggs can't play too many games, and Nani was terrible last season. Should he be given a starting role and a chance to prove himself or should Utd be looking for a new left winger too?
