Tales Of Monkey Island

omg no, wish i didnt cheat on 1 of the puzzles now because im finished and have to wait another month, such a really really good game tbh - i was on the right "lines" but didnt click the correct bit so it kept messing up :S

Got the demo. What a massive letdown :( Gfx are as I expected completely out of character this has obviously been made very cheaply with little thought or budget into it (surprised they even bothered with the voice actors) which is why its not a retail release right now as the episode route is probably best. Also probably why they right now will not sell you ep1 on its own.

Controls are also very dated how hard can it be to just make it point & click or fully support wireless gamepads.

Epic fail to me. MI3 is still the best looking MI game. I hope they don't **** up MI1 SE next week :(

They have messed up MISE imo because they use the terrible version of guybrush from MI3+ games. I prefered the character of guybrush from MI1 and 2 myself shame they didnt make him look better instead.

I played the demo and think they got the humour just right, which is more important than the graphics as far as I'm concerned.
Very pleased, will be forking out for the pack in a few weeks when payday comes!
A shame you can't get the episodes individually.

Looks like the special edition will be using this Guybrush too. Personally I like his voice and it's nice to know the voice actor is a die hard Monkey Island fan. What is it exactly you prefer about the original Guybrush. These were no talkie so I assume you mean his image?

Edit. Just noticed you were referring to his looks. Yeah I too prefer the original Guybrush. I also love the Indy character from Last Crusade and Fate.

This Guybrush look fits the voice much better imo, I hated the way he looked from the screenshots, but from playing the game I've really grown on him. :)

Looks like a waste of money to me. My friend loves it, I can't stand it.

Good for you, GTFO troll.

Edit: Just looked at your profile.

That explains everything. You weren't even born when most of the classic adventure games came out. Go find a modern shooter that requires no brain cells please.

Whats the play time on this ? the words chapter1 makes it sound short which i would not like.

I finished it off in an evening, but I'm a huge fan of the genre, and very used to the warped way of thinking in these games. :)

You'd probably get a few days out of it if you haven't played a adventure game for a while, and didn't play the old ones to death.

As I said here...

Hopefully, people don't forget it's episodic content and complain that it's too short...

It's episodic content. Shorter games at lower prices, released more frequently.

Once all five are released (one a month, hardly a long time), stick them together, and you'll probably end up with a 20-30 hour+ game for under £25 quid. :)

I know a lot of people don't buy into the idea, and want instant satisfaction, but I think it's a brilliant business model, and it's clearly working well for Telltale.

As I said, I can't do anything but recommend it, and I believe even fans will enjoy it. :)

I'm really loving it. Got stuck for ages on that map puzzle. I was trying to follow the map without doing anything with the wishing well. Took me ages to realise i had to initiate it before starting the trail.

Ive just met deep gut, do i have much longer left?

I'm really enjoying it. I was a little skeptical when i first saw the artwork but after playing for a bit i feel it really captures the humour of Monkey Island. I have the first series of Sam and Max which i wasn't that impressed with. I didn't think that had the feel of the original game. So for the guy who thought he might be put off after playing those, give this a go (demo), you may be pleasantly surprised..

The puzzles seem to follow the general telltale scheme of:

Short intro puzzle > Set of puzzles > Set of puzzles > Set of puzzles > Short ending puzzle.

If you've just met that person, you're onto the second set of puzzles. :)

There's no real indication of time though, as you could get stuck on a puzzle for a while, then breeze through the rest. :)

I'm glad to see others enjoying it, I can't help but think anyone that doesn't just doesn't understand it. :p
Too many people complaining about the graphics and controls imo, and that's not what the game is about.
