Its not where you are "meant to be silent" - it is a large public place where people are allowed to eat and drink. There will be inherent noise. Deal with it.
I was going to acquiesce for the sake of fairness until you said "deal with it". No intelligent, mature person ever rounded off an argument by concluding "deal with it".
A little bit of paper rustling REALLY doesn't matter.
To you, maybe. Not to the rest of us who have to "deal with it". Or haven't you read every other comment in this thread.
As long as food is allowed there will be a very minor amount of noise. If food stops being allowed, a huge number of people will stop going to the cinema, me included.
So you go to the cinema for the food? Obviously you do since, as you stated, you wouldn't go if they removed it. You seem to be exactly the same kind of person that most people in this thread dislike. Doesn't that tell you that the problem lies with you, not with everyone else?
EDIT: I think it is quite indicative of the lack of social skills some people have that they'd rather sit there and suffer in silence rather than ask someone else to stop talking / stop kicking their chair / stop rustling at an excessive volume!
I think it is quite indicative of your issues with other cinema-goers that my post ending up irritating you when it wasn't even meant to.
