**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Isn't Tugay a DM?

Tuncay played the last few games of the season in center mid and did well there as is greatest asset is energy, he did get lost at times and caught out position wise but lal in all he was a great box to box player.

He came to Boro as a Right Mid/Striker, I still think his best position is just off a front man, he isn't an out and out striker.

He started as a cm but was moved to dm due to his lack of pace. He was sat in front of the defense and told to just look for a decent pass whenever he was on. Tuncay for me represents a younger Tugay and although a more attacking option, he would compete for a place alongside Reid and Dunn, two players considered our more attack minded cm's.

Bent posted this on his Twitter page shortly after our first friendly v Exeter tonight.

I'd be very disspappointed at loosing Bent to be honest. Despite having a few missed oppertunities last season, he still finished our top goal scorer and wasn't always in the frame, yet he finds himself (yet again) being pushed out by Keane and Defoe. I'm still not convinced by Keane's return. Influential on the pitch he is but he hasn't had a good couple years as a goal scorer.. Well see.

Looks like we're raiding Real's squad :

Tottenham could beat Stuttgart to the signing of Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, who is stalling on a £15.5m move to Germany in the hope of joining the Premier League side.

If this happens then Bent will go.

Or, Spurs want Huntelaar's Real Madrid team-mate Alvaro Negredo. The striker, who was on loan at Almeria last season, is valued at £15m.(The Independent)

And Arjen Robben could be a third Real Madrid player to be courted by Tottenham. The former Chelsea winger claims the White Hart Lane side have made inquiries about him. (Daily Telegraph)

as long as spurs hold out for 16m for bent they wont be able to sell him...and I just get the feeling that redknapp needs to sell before he can spend..I also think he would let Bent go for less than they are currently asking (that must come from higher up in the club though)

they run the risk of interested club buying other players and him not moving on if they persist in holding out for a huge price
