**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Did you see last seasons friendlies though? We played awful, and look how that ended. :D

True, I quite liked Pacheco in preseason last year, wouldnt mind seeing more of him. Particularly as I think he is a better prospect than Nemeth. Not sure why, but every time I see Nemeth play I end up coming away thinking meh...which is odd as on paper he is pretty decent.

The most feared attack in the world has now become second rate with that signing. Utter joke of a transfer.

Second rate? Messi is still the best player in the world and Henry one of them even if you do think Ibrahimovic is crap.

And you've got to take into account that Ibrahimovic will probably play better in a better team and that Guardiola may be able to motivate him. At Inter he was top dog, at Barcelona he'll be dropped for Bojan if he doesn't bother working.

On the other hand Ibrahimovic may continue with his Berbatov (c) style lazy game, so I guess what I'm saying is that anything could happen. :p

on the same day it was revealed that Joe Cole will be out for two months or so because of a muscle tear (Ive only seen one report so far so not sure how accurate)

It's a cartilage tear and he should be in full training within a month.
We missed him last season:(

I wonder if Rafa thinks Plessis can do a job, I think he is a better player than Lucas, and is certainly more mobile than Alonso.

I'd rather not see alonso go, his passing is brilliant, and he just makes the team tick, sad state of affairs when the top 2 clubs in the EPL are losing their better players tbh:(

Ibrahimovic was the top goal scorer in Italy last season. He may not be worth what Barca are paying, but I don't see why everyone rates him so low. He had a poor champions league campaign, but the season before got 5 in 7.

I wish that Berbatov scored 29 goals in 46 games to be quite honest.

What is Negredo like? I've never seen him play, to my knowledge...

He's an overrated foreigner which is why Spurs are after him.

:p Just kidding.

I haven't seen him play either but from what I've read I think he's more of an English style forward rather than a weakling like Villa or Torres.

£32 mil for Alonso is a realistic offer, imo he's worth more than that for liverpool.

Although I really don't want him to leave, Arbeloa and Dossenna can go, but I'd rather Alonso stay. He is replaceable, but knowing what Benitez is like, and with inflated prices, he won't be replaced :(

Who is playing for Porstmouth next year ?

Nobody it seems.

Their squad is currently 21 players, but 3 of those are goalkeepers, and 4 are teenagers. So thats what, 14 senior outfield players. Assurances are flowing that everything will be fine come the start of the season, but things certainly seem to be dragging along.
