**Summer Transfer Thread: News, Rumours and Speculation**

Same, read something in probably fridays press about it running out this weekend, was a pretty hefty chunk of the price they would have to pass on. Though its completely retarded to not put the very last second of the transfer window as end of the clause as people will just do what Benitez did, and its likely why he wanted so much extra cash.

Benitez and Redknapp are really getting on my nerves though, any other club that doesn't want a player usually sells for normal or under valued prices, with Ade we took the first bid given, we'd probably have taken less, if we'd come out and said we didn't want him anymore City would have bid less.

But both those two make it clear players are for sale, unwanted, easily replaceable, then say theres no way they'll sell them cheap. Redknapp going on about not selling Bent for anything less than they bought him for, despite bad mouthing him all season. Spurs overpaid, everyone knows but now they won't sell unless someone else does, its madness.

The more I think about Arsenal the more I want to spend big to bring in some English players, not because I want the club more english, just scared leaving it till the rule comes in(if it does) will leave us with far worse players at higher prices. Young/upson would be good buys, one first team, one cover/rotation. Or even a Lescott for not to ridiculous price would be good though very little chance of that.

It's not Redknapp that's the problem there. It's Levy. Why do you think our finances are in such good shape despite years of big spending? Because Levy tries to make back as much as he paid as possible.

Huntelaar has signed for Stuttgart.

Crystal ball? or plonker? :D

:D

:(. Surely last season proves the exact opposite. Even if Song is our first choice DM what happens when he gets injured. We have no cover whatsoever. I think we can get by without replacing Ade but we certainly need to bring in some other players, preferably a big name DM and some more cover at the back.

The back is looking pretty sorted though now? We shouldn't be having any issues with Gallas, Toure, Djourou, Vermaalen and Senderos. If we do then maybe the training is at fault.

We do need an experienced DM though to play before Song (someone who Song can learn from). Its looking less and less likely though.

Got a link mate? :)

Stuttgart News said:
The tug of war has an end. Top-Striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar comes to VfB Stuttgart. The Dutch National striker of Real Madrid is the football Bundesliga these days a four-year contract signed.

As it is, should the 25-year-old VfB at around four million gross in the year earned. The transfer fee is 18 million euros.

Thus the VfB against a strong competition from abroad enforced. Especially against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City, the attackers ebnenfalls had lucrative offers. Last was also supported by interest from Arsenal's speech, but eventually the offer was not as concrete as that of the VfB.

Even a year ago he was one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. For the SC Heerenveen and Ajax Amsterdam, he reached in 138 games 110 league goals. But at Real, where he is in January for 27 million views, he came into 20 lots on only eight hits.

After the splurge of the Royal with the obligations of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema for the offensive was in Madrid for Huntelaar no more space. The Hunter (the hunters) went 21-for Oranje at times and scored 13 goals while. With 18 hits in 22 U21 internationals, he is the best shooter this age Dutch

Still to be confirmed by either club.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has agreed to join Stuttgart from Real Madrid despite being linked with two Premier League sides, according to reports in Germany.

Arsenal were rumoured to be contemplating a late bid for the striker after the sale of Emmanuel Adebayor to Manchester City but the offer reportedly never came.

Tottenham have also been linked with the 25-year-old for some time but it was said that the North Londoners failed to make a substantial bid.

Stuttgart are keen to replace striker Mario Gomez after his departure to Bayern Munich earlier this summer and it now looks likely that they have secured their man for a reported £20million.

Huntelaar has only been at the Bernabeu six months but following the big money signings of attacking trio Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, the frontman is seen as surplus to requirements.
No decision

The player's advisor Arnold Oosterver refused to confirm the move but did say a decision would be made on Monday.

"There is no decision made actually," he told the Deutsche Presseagentur.

"The only thing for sure at this point is that it will be this Monday when he says yes or no to those offers that are on the table."

Despite his short stay in Spain Huntelaar still possesses an enviable scoring record, with eight goals from 20 appearances.

Sky sports transfer tracker thing gets updated a heck of a lot more than the BBC's. I think i might start checking that one out daily

Finally got shot of Adebayor...took his sweet time though:p

Now if Wenger signs a decent DM then i think we will be set...the question is who though??.

If Wenger doesn't sign anyone else he's a complete idiot. He's got no excuses what so ever now we all know he's armed with at least £25M.

The team is just 2-3 signings away from being a real force in the league and in Europe, why he wouldn't bring in the experience and quality that is needed (and that everyone else can see is needed) I don't know.

It's just frustrating, but I guess there's a long way to go in the window yet.

I want Senna!

Isnt he a bit old though??...not that i think its a bad thing as we need someone experienced i think...im not a fan of Wenger and his kids philosophy but what do i know??:p...i heard there was a rumour of Obafemi Martins bid of £7mill from Arsenal...dont know if theres any truth in that as it hasnt been reported on SSN.

Is he being allowed to spend any money i wonder?

Yeah he has money available. Hoping for somebody like Inler who can bulk up the midfield, or somebody like Flamini who just runs so much they are persistantly annoying the other team. They don't have to be world class, just good enough to play next to Cesc, now.

If Wenger doesn't buy a DM this window then I'll be genuinely confused/annoyed at him and Arsenal.

I won't be, he's repeatedly said he believes Song/Denilson are going to be world class, are already great and in that situation, who in their right minds would spend money on that position. He might have seen the error of his ways, he may have changed his mind but I don't see why.

I mean, if you had, Eto'o(not wanting to leave) Henry, Messi, Bojan, would you actively be out their looking to sign, say Rooney for 40mil, no. THe problem for me lies in that Wenger utterly incorrectly thinks we have suitable players already.

I'm honestly starting to think its a case of several things, knowing them for a long time, seeing their potential years ago and letting that cloud his judgement, still seeing that initial potential from years ago rather than realising the potential has long since proven to not be there.

AS people have said all thread, Senna is just about the perfect player for the role but I can't see any chance of it.

If we don't buy at least a DM then really we do need to be looking at real wingers with real pace, also looking at maybe going for a english player or two as we're looking very vunerable to future rules on english numbers. With Young seemingly available we can get a genuinely quality english player who deserves to be in the first team. Its better than buying a bunch of 10mil players in two years who aren't good enough but we're forced to start due to stupid rules.

Meh, think that's all an over reaction. Last season the defence were good (Gallas had an amazing season) for half of the season and then after Arshavin arrived the attack was good'ish for the other half, unfortunately Gallas and Clichy got injured about the same time the attack got good, so they never crossed over. I think with Gallas/Toure/Verm, the defence will probably be good enough, with Rosicky, Arshavin and Eduardo (and minus that clown Adebayor) the attack will be good enough, however, the CM needs 1 big player, absolutely. I think the rest is good enough, or at least as good as it's going to get ..

Senna would be good, but you'd only get a couple of seasons out of him.

You need a good DM, simple, maybe a more established one that you can splash out on, and then a younger one.

Simple really. You'd think that Wanger would be out there now talking with them, it's the only position Arsenal are desperate for quality in.
