Anyone not like being overtaken?

Middle lane owners club? In theory, there is a maneouvre you can do which is overtake in lane 3, move to lane 2, then lane 1, let the middle lane hog pass you, then move to lane 2 behind them, and repeat. How many times would you be able to 'circle' them like that? It's only a theory and not to be done for real!

Tbh I don't not like being overtaken, but I love overtaking :D.

But not liking being overtaken, come on, just carry on who cares what others do :). People get way too tense about stuff on the roads, need to relax more and not get wound up pointlessly over small things.

Never done it myself but i've been tempted a few times, i frequently go across all lanes close behind them then cut right back across all lanes close infront of them to "prove a point", sometimes they even get the message, always impressed when this happens.

yeh, remember though, should indicate to lane 2, stop indicate, then indicate to lane 1. going from 3-1 in one move is bad apparently... police would pull ya, even though they let the MLM carry on.

oh and how did this get to MLM's? :o

one of my top childhood memorys was when some some guy my dad had overtook followed him home . he was F ing and blinding in middle of the street . before he had even got out the car a slightly mad neighbor ran over and smacked him one through his open window. woooops. proper community spirit !

ive been flashed and stuff before but never any sort of full on madness

i was wearing my brawn jacket and cap on way to a job earlier and i swear lots more people have started over taking me and accelerating fiercely since i've worn it lol.

anybody who drives in a hat is a pleb. fact.
be they old people in a trilby, or yoofs in caps. wearing a hat while driving = bad driver :p

seriously though, why would you wear a hat in the car? it's like those ****s that wear sunglasses indoors

i do this now and again if i can be bothered, but only if i'm cruising in the 'slow' lane and they're in my way. cutting them up and weaving across 3 lanes usually sends the message across :D

It's seen as disrespectful to take over it if it's on a single lane road. If you're on a dual carriadgeway then it is ok :)

surely that's only if in is a procession :p

although to be fair, the person in the back is dead, so it's not like they're going to be offended..

The other day in Newbury I was doing an exact 30mph on a 30mph road and some woman shouts out "SLOW DOOOOWN!" while walking her dog

I've had this half a dozen times or more in the Manta, it's a noisy bugger and old busy bodies seem to think it's their civic duty to shout at me and gesticulate wildly. I even had one bloke jump into the road and try and flag me down! I must have been doing 35 tops, suffice to say I just drove round him with a bemused look on my face.
Horsham is terrible for dogooders with nowt better to do with their lives.

My personal favorites are the frumpy middle aged house wife and geeky looking middle aged bloke who are regularly out with a speed gun and a sign that tels you how fast you are going. I always drop it a gear and hammer past them if it safe to do so :D

I don't like being overtaken, but i i just do the normal man reaction try and overtake stuff back, even though my car is a heap.

The other day i had to do 100 odd to overtake a porsche that did me on the a419, stupid move, yes. Satisfying? Oh hells yes.
Then he shot past me again :D

So after you've 'proved yourself' by overtaking them, do you then slow down to your old speed?:confused:

Speed changes on motorways can be down to how fast you're going and therefore how confident you are in a lack of traffic police around, if you're going sufficiently fast to be concerned.

I had some chavs in a Saxo tail me for a while in a 40mph zone which went down to a 30mph bit. When the road when straight they started trying to pull past (we were doing about 35mph) I was so angry I dropped a gear and left them in the rear view mirror on the wrong side of the road. Chavs seem to think they're driving Ferarris half the time.

Quite often deliberately slow down so nice cars are 'forced' to go past me. Windows wound down to appreciate the noise :D

Overtaking used to be easy.
All I needed was about 2mm of straight road and pre spool the turbo.

They didn't have time to gesture me about overtaking, most of the time I'd place the gear change right next to their window for maximum "wake the **** up" effect, anti lag and no dump valve wakes the dead. :D

Hmm, I could have worded all that much better than I did but I am supposed to be round the GFs for tea at 7.30 :o
