Samsung i7500 (Android)

There must be some sort of battery management app? Seems like its just the data syncing thats draining it :( Any other gripes?

Not sure how long the Hero would last as it has a smaller battery and non OLED screen, plus all those widgets. Using a data connection management app, the problem is solved I think.

most other reports have given it 2-3 days battery life of normal use, they must be doing something different I guess, but no mention of it needing a seperate app

Well, it could be down to my excessive use (Im unemployed at the moment and rather bored!). The thing is I couldnt see any phone, Nokia/iphone with a constant connection to wifi/3g lasting 2/3 days - that would be a miracle. Maybe I set it up wrong? Ill have to find out.

My sample shots: (looks far better than the Hero)

Need to try it out in a night/bar situation really, as all cameras work ok in good lighting.

Geez I can't find a galaxy anywhere (from germany). They're all saying 7 days delivery and its the branded one.

Christo i emailed that tech guy, but not response :( I guess he doesnt have any more

i think samsung are still pushing other phones like the jet etc on tv rather than focusing on the galaxy thats prob why the release delay

Yeah i emailed everyone i could find, but only a few got back. I found a place in the end www.sotel.de (i guess its not a competitor here!). 414 pounds delivered.

It looks like a small place because they only accept paypal. Anyway I'll let you know when it gets here!

On a side note, my HTC Hero arrived yesterday. It looks VERY well built i have to say, feels heavy (in a good way) and solid. BUT the 'chin' just doesnt work for me. Galaxy all the way :)

some good info from o2 forum for anyone looking for this on O2 UK

Release date - week commencing 10th August

£44 a month - free handset
£35 a month - £97.86 for phone
£30 a month - £146.80 for phone
£25 a month - £195.00 for phone
£20 a month - £244.67 for phone

Obviously with this being an internet phone it would be an extra £7.50 p/m for web bolt on on any plan under the £35 one.

all 18 month contracts,

is it official that o2 have an exclusive on this phone? and if so anybody know how long that will be for?

if you want it on another network you'll be able get it through mobiles and the like shortly after it comes out on o2, as has been said before network exclucivity only means you can't get it directly from the other networks(i.e. their shop, website or by calling them) not that you can't get it on those network before the exclucivity period is over(except the iphone obv).

Yeh i get that, just that would mean starting a new contract. I like getting a good deal when i upgrade, but i'm not on o2 :)

You could upgrade on your line to the most expensive phone you are able to get, and sell it, then buy the samsung simfree.

Also some of these companies will let you 'upgrade' to the samsung too. They just take the upgrade comission and apply it to a sim free galaxy instead of the t-mobile phone they were suposed to give you :)
