Amazing Temperature 66C at 4GHz !

Someone metion me that overclock 4Ghz at 1.184vcore is very bad indeed ? is that true ? They say best on safe side is 1.26 to 1.30vcore ?

LoL, who told you this??

Low voltages is a great thing!!

I was amazed at the low voltages you are using... then I noticed you have HT disabled!!!

I don't understand why some people disable HT.. what's the point in having i7 if you don't use HT???

::edit::

You will be extremely lucky if you can have a stable o/c with HT enabled with such low voltage as this... what is your QPI voltage set to?

I did another test with HT enabled with same 1.184 v core but temperature is 10c degree higher at 76C as it pretty good. See photo above this post. So, 66C for non HT, and 76C with HT enabled.

I'm happy with ~75C load temps (max of 79C). During the heatwave I was getting up to 86C but since it won't get near that even under 100% load unless it's really hot, I'm perfectly happy with my current OC. I'd say your temps are fine.

Still need to bump up the QPI voltage though cos it BSODs if I turn C-States on. :(

I had now set myself a new record of the most amazing lowest temperature I ever seen in my life with lower my vcore a one drop below and change a few setting in bios. I had ran linux and IBT all success overnight and again ran prime95 for 2 hours with 4GHz with all cores, all threads with HT enabled with Turbo mode enabled with extreme performance enabled with a crazy vcore set at 1.168v to 1.17v with amazing temperature of just below 70C !!! Look at motherboard drop to 30C, North Bridge drop to 40C, CPU temp drop to 43C and the push pull fans still on low speed of 1350/1342 RPM with all fans at the Antec 1200 case set to LOW speed. I playing some gaming and still stable !!!
I had also replaced two fans of Akasa Apache IP54 with superb s-flow with a push pull on the cpu cooler.
Here is the photo of 4GHz with 70C with aircooled pc with HT enabled 4 cores/8 threads.

Bulldog has put a sterling amount of persistence and effort into his computer, the results are deserved.

I'll pass on how his volts are that low, could be a good chip, could be something else. Mine seems to have a vid of 1.0625 which I doubt is exceptional, so could well be that his is 0.9V or so at stock
