Just saw someone jump off the top of a 5 story car park.

Yes, someone tried to catch her. He ran to try, but he was too late. She hit the ground before he got into position.
To be honest he was lucky, he would have probably ended up badly injured or worse.
EDIT - beaten to it, sorry didn't read the rest of the thread

When i say badly injured. i think the most likley thing would be a spinal injury. very likely ending up in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. This is a best case senerio

One person might have died trying to save her life. The whole crowd could probably have managed to save her without incurring much harm to any one individual.

You should have taken a photo of the people recording it and sent it into the local paper. Their faces would be all over the news and they'd probably be ashamed.

it wouldn't have made any difference what so ever to the onlookers as no paper would print such a photo without blurring the faces of the onlookers in a situation like that, they would be pretty much begging to be sued if they did.

unfortunatley this kinda thing aint unique, there was a similar incident in Derby? last year, a young guy threw himself off a building, but only after a sizeable crowd had gathered, who also took out there phones & cameras, some of the crowd where very vocal & started to taunt him, egging him on, telling him to jump, get on with it, stop wasting time etc. your not gonna get to folk like that, people like that have no sense of shame what so ever, there bottom feeders, lower than whale excrement.

Well if this thread isn't locked by Wednesday, I'll scan the page from the Newham recorder and post it.

I'm not saying it didn't happen, things like this happen all the time. I am just in before the lock due to lots of views being chucked about, and it takes one person to go out of line and then the thread gets locked..

You will find that the 'yoof' of today are more interested in getting something interesting on their phones to show their friends than they are in getting help, I've seen it several times. It is disgusting that the Police did nothing and this further proves to me that their first aid training is pretty poor.

The police would have thought and looked and her said shes gone, over 50 feet on to concrete and you are died.

Not at all, I attended a fire in a row of maisonettes and some how, the little scroats that lit it didn't hear the sirens as we pulled up. As I dragged hosereel towards the flat they noticed my presence and panicked as I was blocking their escape route. Not wanting to nicked by the Police, they launched themselves over the balcony of the maisonettes, dropped fifty feet onto concrete and limped off with the Police in pursuit. They got away.

On the subject of the Police being crap at first aid, I attended an RTA on the M8 which involved a Ford Transit being on it's side. When we pulled up we where pretty shocked and surprised to see a Police Officer standing on top of the Transit and pulling the driver out of the van by his neck.

They guy living above me jumped from his balcony on the 5th floor and landed in the garden outside my window.

He was handcuffed at the time. Apparently he had just been arrested for burglary but got free and jumped of the balcony.
