Just saw someone jump off the top of a 5 story car park.

Oh do shut up. They could have been suffering from depression, which means they wouldn't have been in the right state of mind. It's not always people just taking their lives for no reason...

I think you're taking Mag out of context there. He's not saying people attemping suicide don't deserve help, he's saying it's not worth two people dieing over.

Don't get me wrong, I quite like the odds of the rugby tackle technique, but if we're saying stand still and try and catch someone from a five story fall I think you'd very likely end up dead yourself.

edit: Now I just read you were referring to the muppet bit, so the above isn't really relevant :D. I don't know really, I mean drunkards prancing about on a glass roof I'd consider a muppet, but people who are ill, depressed, stressed whatever I definitley wouldn't.

I'm only going by what Asim is saying, they didn't even check for a pulse. But yet the paramedics did cpr. to me that does not make sense. You check for a pulse, not to even check for a pulse is disgusting. If they checked for a pulse and decided not to perform cpr. Then fair enough.

Paramedics HAVE to conduct CPR. They are obliged to do it for a minimum length of time. even if the person is clearly dead because they can't certify life extinct unless they do it.

Police cannot certify life enxtinct under any circumstances.

if I see somebody prancing around a roof then I will probably just think to myself "WTH is that idiot doing?" that would just be my reaction to seeing such a thing, I don't know the person so trying to understand their psychological issues isn't my problem.

That was not my reaction at all. It seems we are completely different.

I instantly thought. "Oh god no, I wonder what that poor girl is thinking, what has happend, where is her family. Please don't do it."

NOT: ""WTH is that idiot doing?"

Glad I don't live in London then, if I see somebody on a roof I don't instantly think they are going to kill themselves.

Must be grim down there...

I was having a go at him for calling them "muppets", as if he knows what they're (possibly) going through.

I'd like to see if he feels the same way over a family member or friend becoming depressed, and looking for a way out by taking their own life. Will he call them muppets too?

Of course, she may not have been depressed, but he still tarnished them all with the same brush.

This I know, but don't you find it strange or or even disgraceful they did not even check vitals?
Is there a rule saying they can't check vitals in these situations, or any other reason why they would not?
(assuming asim is right)

Why? Hardly something to boast about is it?

No offense to the OP, but its the internet, Im sure its not that hard to find examples of people spouting BS stories.

Like mentioned before, if there was a crowd maybe they had to secure the area.

Good on the op for being what seems the only passer by with any sense

It's such a shame people become so desperate and in such a bad state of mind to want to do away with themselves

Why does it matter if I know what they are going through? I think it's idiotic to go the suicide route (with some exceptions) so yes I would be hard on a friend or family member if they were trying to commit suicide.

She was on the other side of the safety rails and holding on with one arm.

Seen people standing and walking across the very edge of a 7 story car park here before, just retarded chavs but still my first thought wasn't suicide.

I think you obviously do not know what goes through the minds of people suffering from depression then, and I'm sure many others will back me up.
