To find out what he does do maybe?

I fail to see why that would be interesting.

I bet if he called it " watch how i fake predicting the lottery numbers" it wouldnt be quite so popular.

Don't get me wrong I like a well done magic trick, but when you can probably give a simple explanation as to how he will do it, like we have all been doing in this thread, it loses it's sting somewhat.

Because everything he has done before this has been entertaining and intriguing. And I expect nothing less from this show.

Would you still watch the well done magic trick if they just simply explained how they were going to do it beforehand?

Jono8 in most boring person ever award!

Tefal? hand me my medal.

pfft , each to their own, but i find the thought of watching Derren Brown trying to be mysterious boring :o

i think now is a good time for me to back out of this Derren love in thread.

Has anyone seen this guy work improvised?

It's easy to make someone look clever on camera/on stage when everything has a script/planned out with a whole production crew behind you.

True but he claims it's something that anyone can do at home, and there's an hour long show on friday explaining how he's done it. I don't for one moment believe that next week I'll have a fool proof method for predicting the lottery, but I'm expecting more than some trickery by his production crew.

I'm expecting something like the system, which is no use to anyone interested in horse racing.

Is the lotto draw actually live?

Maybe he'll watch it on terrestrial TV and hope everyone else watches it on digital, as we all know there's a second or so lag on digital from terrestrial, and do it that way.

Makes me think of something that happened in Australia in the 20's, or some time round then (there was a film made about it), when some smart alec's were conning bookies on horse racing. they'd do it like this....

They'd go to bookies in towns/cities hundreds, if not thousands, of miles away from the race track, they'd have a mate at the track who'd ring them the race results, and then before the bookies got the results in via telegraph, they'd put bets on the winning horse. Damn clever.
