Watch it carefully.

The camera goes perfectly still, and its asif it sharpens up abit.

Just after he reads "28"

PS:

Make sure you've made the video full screen and have HQ selected.

The thing is the way video compression works, the quality is generally better when things aren't moving much, and you will find things that are staying still do look like they sharpen up when it stops moving.

They were running a competition (which I entered) to view the filming of this event tonight, however on the programme he said there were only two camera men there (I think)... hmmmm

Two things I did notice. When he stood there in amazement as the numbers came out and he had his hand over his mouth, I believe his right hand wasn't actually holding the board but the board was maybe stuck to his left elbow enabling his right hand to do something like right on some more ping pong balls.

Also the stand for the podium would be perfect to shoot the ball up from the floor, it looked clear but maybe this was an illusion and the balls came up the tube.

The whole time the numbers are being drawn he is covering his mouth, my bet is one of his camera buddies are helping him create the illusion via camera trickery.

Didn't he take 2 camera men in with him? why when he only uses 1 camera throughout?

Say you spent a year on a project and then had to broadcast it live across several channels after a lot of hype. Would you not have a similar reaction whilst watching the draw?

Here's my reasoning;

Of course he didn't 'predict' the lottery results. If he did, there would be a major uproar because if he did the lottery would have to end. A lot of money from the lottery goes to charity, community development and so forth. For this reason, it will probably never end, and if it ever did, it wouldn't be due to some magic trick. The public would not play anymore, and it would have a huge impact on many things (our Olympic games for one) - thus, not gonna happen. So, I think we can safely assume that he doesn't have a 'system' for winning; therefore it is a trick.

From my knowledge, DB is an illusionist, a bloody good one. Not a fraud. Everybody could be an illusionist, mentalist, magician or whatever if it just involved camera tricks. I could do what he's just done if it's camera tricks. I think we should rule this out. If he rocks up on Friday saying 'it was just a camera trick', what's going to fill the other 59 minutes of his show?

Now, as to how he did it. I have no clue - as I don't with most of the things he does. If you see him live you would understand just how amazing it is; TV doesn't do it justice. I am genuinely amazed, but then again, before it started I knew I would be.

Get rid of 'entertainers' such as talentless Peter Andre, Jordan, and so on, and get more people like DB; clever, talented, charismatic, master of their arts and bloody good entertainers. I hope he gets the publicity he deserves from this.

Yeah he said two camera men. One at the back and the one that followed him into the studio.

Why the 2nd camera man then? he says at the beginng there is only him and two camera men, the 2nd camera is used for about 1 sec throughout the whole broadcast and that's when he's introducing him.

A good point - why was the other cameraman necessary - the far camera shot was used the once when he waved at it =\

Remember how in the Speed film, they put the cctv on a loop

Maybe they did this on the left side of the screen. Darren's little whiteboard to write the numbers down was possibly a way to waste time whilsy someone put the correct balls in place.

As someone else pointed out though, camera trickery would be too lame for a Darren Brown illusion.
The white board was so they could zoom in on his predicted balls without having to show the tv still.

+1 Post of the thread so far.

We'll see on Friday. :)

Until then, the only thing I'm sure of is that it won't have been some cheap camera trick, edits, pre-recorded draw or last minute changes to the balls.
