Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 11-14

Even better a finish when you realise Ekotto is pulling him back as he shoots, but lazy defending, Ekotto has pace yet didn't really try his best to get back, in the replay he's doing the classic, jogging back hoping Hutton gets the ball, when Rooney gets past him Ekotto suddenly goes full pace and gets there but too late. If he'd just run full speed the whole time assuming Hutton wouldn't get it, he'd have been able to get infront of Rooney.

Does my head in when defenders, or anyone, doesn't try their hardest preparing for the worst case scenario.
 
Rooney is a great player.

I still dont see what Berbatov brings to the team, we looked so much more fluid going forward when he was taken off.

That would be Fletcher back into centre midfield or at least was more narrow.

If you think Scholes is a better DM than Fletcher then you seriously need your head checked.

Berbatov brings ball retention, he's always available for the ball. I dont think many teams will have more of the ball at WHL - he was exceptional in the first half.

Good result, sadly I didn't see as i'm not an ESPN subscriber - so i'll reserve proper judgement until MOTD. :)

Shame about Scholes though - I understand there was uncertainty about the second booking but we all know the lil' ginge can't tackle to save his life.

I find that so hard to believe.

His link up play between midfield and attack has contributed to a large % of the teams goals this season. If you really watch him on the ball, his touch is so disgustingly good it is impossible to get the ball of him. He is also tracking back a lot more and generally working harder for the team. Him, Rooney and Fletcher have been the stand out players this season.

In my opinion, Berbatov should be one of the 1st names on the sheet for every game.
 
Great result, we bossed the game at times which was nice to see.

Crouch is a whining little bitch.

Rooney looked shattered towards the end of that and Scholes should never have gone for that tackle.

I think this season berbatov has been so much better then last,i think would have been a better choice to have berbatov further up and rooney behind,but today looked like they played rooney up and berb behind.Think utd did well after that very early goal,the settled down and controlled most of the game.
