Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 11-14

I find that so hard to believe.

His link up play between midfield and attack has contributed to a large % of the teams goals this season. If you really watch him on the ball, his touch is so disgustingly good it is impossible to get the ball of him. He is also tracking back a lot more and generally working harder for the team. Him, Rooney and Fletcher have been the stand out players this season.

In my opinion, Berbatov should be one of the 1st names on the sheet for every game.

???

He is pushed of the ball like a small child, his passing is crap, he has no pace, is rubbish in the air, he is extraordinarily lazy and his finishing is appalling.

Unfortunately for my wife, I do really watch Berbatov, I spend most of every match he plays in shouting at the TV about just how ******* terrible he is.

Poor performance from Spurs, started well then fizzled out. Not having a single chance when Utd went down to 10 men was awful. Everyone looked tired.

Cannot understand what Pavvy wasn't brought on, scored 3 in 2 games for Russia and would have given us something, Vidic and Rio had Crouch sorted after the first 15 minutes, although could have been different if the Ref had seen Vidic slight elbow from a different angle.

Scholes red card was unfortunate, when I initially saw it thought he caught Huddleston in the face, but he didn't.

That aside, if someone had said we would have had 12 points from 15 and played Liverpool and Utd at the start of the season I'd have taken it.

True, but today was probably his best Utd performance.

Man U surrounds the ref to provoke a card.

Should have been his second yellow if the referee had been to spec savers this morning. The Jenas yellow card was a joke, didn't deserve it. Crouch should have been carded during the game too.

Overall quite an entertaining game, Scholes was silly for his second yellow. What was Huddlestone doing clutching his face as if he had been kicked? I wish people would give Foster more chance in goals, are we going to this with any new keeper, scrutinise every single goal they concede saying they should have done better? At this rate we'll never be happy with any keeper brought in to replace VDS.

Great result, we bossed the game at times which was nice to see.

Crouch is a whining little bitch.

Rooney looked shattered towards the end of that and Scholes should never have gone for that tackle.

Well done boys!

Agree, although on the subject of whining bitch, take note of Fletcher. The guy cries more often than my 3 year old. Also, I thought players were not allowed to surround the referee everytime someone gets fouled, but then again, it was Utd, and they get away with everything.

Agree about Crouch though, shame that cost Vidic being sent off. Had he not whined all game Vidic may have got a 2nd yellow.

Wasnt a lot Foster could do about the goal to be fair, Ferdinand should have just gone straight through defoe and clear the ball and him out, its What Terry would have done, and the only thing that blots Ferdinands copy book is he never gets stuck in.

Sorry, but I think you are wrong. I think you made your decision about Berbatov say 10 months ago and no matter what he does on the pitch you will not budge from your initial thoughts.

But hey that is your opinion...tis what makes football so great! :)

Plus Foster made one of the saves of the season so far tipping Jenas' shot wide. Add that to the one against Arsenal from point blank range and I would say he is doing great. He is starting to command the box more where-as before he maybe didn't have the confidence. He still needs to work on his decision making and kicking but he is a world class shot stopper. Van Der Sar's injury may have been a blessing in disguise to give him the minutes he badly needed.

Same with the Arshavin goal, yet there were fans saying he should have saved it. He's done well so far, pulled off some brilliant saves and will only improve as he plays more. Ferdinand should have done better, he had a fairly quiet game overall, Vidic was involved in everything.

I can't believe there is a City fan on five live defending Adebayor.

Berbatov was class today, but was rightly sacrificed as Rooney is superior.

Was a really really good performance actually from all the team.

Foster's save was class.

probably the best first half this season from United, much better from Giggs, Scholes (although someone of his experience shouldn't be getting sent off like that, could have cost us the win and Anderson. Fletcher was great, especially in the second half, won the ball back so many times and worked incredibly hard.

Someone should remind Evra to let Lennon out of his back pocket, was he even playing in the second half? Evra had him well sussed, even had time to go forward and attack when we were down to 10.

i was worried about lennon before the game, he seemed to have the measure of evra and he's just put in a great performance for england but he was anonymous.

Good game from the boys tonight. Although spuds contributed to their own downfall playing that 8ft dolt up front. Debatable 2nd yellow for Scholes but considering the ones he has gotten away with over the years, it kind of even's itself out.

Berbatov and Giggs movement was outstanding I thought.

How the **** Crouchiniho has stolen a living as a professional footballer is beyond me. He's dire in the air little pace and is deceptively cack one one one.

MoTM take your pick from Rooney, Giggs or Fletcher for me.

Still concerned with the centre of our midfield although I though we looked better today with Anderson in the team.

Just watching Lazio vs Juve. Given that Serie A isn't awash with money then a quite a few teams including Utd could have done a lot worse than make a cheeky bid for Diego.
