Why would he even try and give a clue about freeze frame/spilt screen (or even conceive the idea)? Theres no way in hell he would ever suggest that. Any form of camera trickery revelation would pretty much ruin his entire reputation.

The 6 year old footage was shown at the show - he cant lie about that. Whether or not the video is doctored is another matter.

why so many feel the need to vilify him and his work over this, all magic and illusions are basically conn's of some sort.. personally i dont want to know how every trick i see is done, its the not knowing that makes it so interesting.

we all know he has the same chance of predicting the six numbers as anyone else so surely he got the numbers via the devil !

Ruin his reputation?

He's an illusionist... no matter how he has done it - it's an illusion either way.

Some of the most complicated magic tricks or illusions are done via the simplest solution available to the illusionist. Why has this got to be any different?

Beautiful. Because everything is deciphered and resolved by the genius of OCUK which is, fairly enough, one of the most closed-minded forums one can come across.

Topics like this are ostensibly psychological masturbatory sessions with little to no positive productive output. No-one here knows the answer. There's nothing more that can be said.
 
It's not even an illusion. He stands on the right hand side of the screen, never goes to the left. There's nothing neat about that. Whatsoever.

I've gone off him quite a bit tbh, when I saw one of his shows initially I quite liked it; I certainly like the memory/personal skills he has. This thing was just a cheap stunt though, probably due to C4 needing to fill up telly now BB is gone.
 
So' today's show states that he will attempt to hypnotise us, through the telly. This should be very intesting as there will be no tricks employed.

Ssome people are VERY susceptable to suggestion. Some people in this thread have stated that when he asked everybody to stand up (in last week's show), they obeyed.

I've seen the power of suggestion, first hand and some people are gullible enough to fall for it, without using the logical reasoning or other forms of evidence. Unfortunately, the power of suggestion doesnt work on me, as I am a sceptic and tend to believe hard evidence/statistics and not just someone suggesting something to me, as being correct.

Tonight's show should be a good 'un.

On a separate note, I've been watching Criss Angel mind freak and some of the "illusions" he performs are pretty good.

Camera trickery like that would be out and out cheating and you know it. If this was confirmed his reputation would be ruined, if you cant see that there's no hope for you.

The same reason he filmed the reverse dialog teaser for the series.. he is building hype.

He can't lie about it, but it might be doctored? That proves that then :p

Obviously no one on here is going to know. That "secret" is kept to all but a select few on the CH4 production team.

That's the point.. he is NEVER going to confirm anything. His whole career is based around the "how did he do it?" mantra.

I believe it was a cop-out to use the splitscreen method, but then I'm not earning his wage or as famous as him..

I meant he couldnt lie about the film being shown to an audience after the show. I didnt say it might be doctored but of course its one possibility.

Well I think the actual trick and the explanation are irrelevant (but for what its worth I think it was just a camera trick). The real beauty is that it has caused a lot of interest and all the speculation around it (whether good or bad) just furthers the attention. Lots more people will watch tonights show either way.

So Derren can sit at home smugly laughing to himself because everyone is wondering how he predicted (read 'announced shortly after') the lottery results when it was actually just misdirection and manipulation used to get more viewers.

And I stood up last week at the end. :p I am a sheep.

Subliminal Messaging and showing a film that will make you stick to your seat !!! :eek:

Some posts after the show has aired too would be good in order to see what experiences people had :p
 
He's never said it would stick you to your seat, has he?

I got the impression he was using "volunteers" to demonstrate the subliminal messaging.

Also.. you might be better off posting in this thread :)

I did think about posting it there but that thread was about the lottery prediction and not his next show :)

The people at home watching will be hypnotised into sticking to their sofas/seats and will be unable to get up. :cool:

Obviously it won't work on everyone, but it will work on some. I can't wait. :D
