The most irritating band ever?

I can't believe no one's mentioned Keane yet.

They had an OK first album and that was it.

Just reminded me - Travis! Where would they be without the Oasis riffs they 'borrowed'.

Agree with other posts, don't see what's so good about Killers or Radiohead.

Worst live band has to be RHCP...... the guy can't sing live!

I feel sorry for those who don't listen to them properly who feel that you can only enjoy the music if you're "cool and alternative".

You have semi-tripped yourself up there. There is no 'correct' way to listen to music - you either like it or you don't. Telling people that there is a correct way to enjoy an art is, arguably, very pretentious.

It reminds me of the old "you just don't get it" argument regarding experimental music (which I'm sure I have probably used before). People can 'get' what music is trying to achieve fine, but that doesn't mean they enjoy it. I'm not referring to you in particular Liefrich, but when people act that there is a higher level of intelligence behind music, I can't help but think how smug those individuals must be about their 'superior' tastes.

I didnt realise there was a particular way to to listen to just plain whining, please elaborate fella...

And this is coming from a man who's favourite band is Killswitch Engage....

I used to be a huge Muse fan when I was a moody teenager. Now I really do find them very irritating, which is a shame as they seem to have become extremely popular with the masses lately. It's not a 'oh they've gone all mainstream so now I don't like them' thing, it's literally because I've just grown out of them.

Nail. Head. Kablammo.

The Beatles, The Killers, U2, Guns and Roses, RHCP, Franz Ferdinand...

I could go on, but these all compete for me. And I like most music.

I am a music snob, forsure. I was in rant mode about Radiohead, I'm fine with people not liking them it just annoys me a tad to hear people describe them as the most irritating band ever when they one of the few bands ever to actually enjoy mass acclaim yet still retain their credibility and critical worship.

I understand the whole music is subjective thing I really do, still to say radiohead is pure whine is something I’d expect out of some wigger listening to N-Dubz at the back of the bus on his Sony Erikson phone.

Mind you Killswitch Engage is pretty much on par with N-Dubz :D

I have expressed a similar view about Muse in another thread. Their Absolution album is so angsty I find most of it cringe worthy. It's only one step up from Fred 'why is everybody always picking on me?' Durst.

I would say that they are more frustrating than irritating, but the words do have an overlap.

Sorry, everything about all on them annoys me so much.

Well, I say all rappers, just these mainstream fools who are admired by 12 year old girls.
I agree that the majority are annoying, but some there are exceptions... Del the funky homosapien springs to mind!

And that was exactly my point dude, listening to bands like Killswitch Engage & Lamb of God, you'd think Id be able to listen to anything but honestly Ive heard static make more music sense than some of Radiohead's modern tripe.

The Bends & OK Computer are up there with some of the greatest stuff ever burned to a CD but since then omg.......still I dont find them irritating just rubbish.

Arctic Monkeys & Reverand & the Makers really make me wanna destroy things...

Bloc Party - the guy cant sing, sounds more like he's straining out a turd.

Pendulum - Do they count as a band? I don't know but they're annoying & crap, can't decide if they're DnB or Rock, awful music (the exception being the Voodoo People remix they did).

Chase and Status - Again, awful music, DnB , dubstep, rap songs - make your minds up, annoying because Radio 1 lick their bums.
