Left For Dead 2 .... This Must Be said .....

i suppose you could say the same about a lot of sequels - slightly better graphics and a bunch of new guns. Difference being usually there's a new storyline to go with it. But then L4D was never about the storyline so anyone buying with this hope will no doubt be dissapointed.

In fairness to Valve there was a pretty decent demo availabale for anyone who wasnt sure on the purchase.

What is a "sequel" anyway? The fundamental gameplay is nearly always the same, so besides tarting up some aspects, what esle can they change? New graphics? A progression in story? Both things kinda unrealistic to ask for. The graphics in L4D1 are hardly bad, and creating a whole new engine just for L4D2 would likely increase production time 2 or 3 fold (since they were able to do everything else so quickly), and for the story... welll.... in case you haven't noticed in l4d1 THERE IS NO STORY, and if you want progression welll just take a look at any zombie movie... they all start out great, tense, scary, when you've just realised your the only one alive and everyone else is a zombie.. then they always get progressively worse as you (or your group) encounter more and more people until you eventually find the army and the story goes kaput. So plz just enjoy the L4D franchise for being some basic zombie bashing fun, cos that's all it can ever be.

Any 1 giving an opinion on this game after only playing it for 30 mins or single player is a muppet!
Its all about the versus mode! the New SI are so much fun, the spitter does do lots of dmg but if it didnt no one would bother moving away from it!
The new maps are just amazing! i love the carnival one, there is just so much to do. Ive not played any of the other 5 or 6 modes but there is loads to keep u occupied!

I bought this game with 3 others so it cost me £20! A bargain compared to mw2, which has only 5 hrs of Single player and a shocking p2p console style multi player .
Oh and no chance this should have been a DLC lol!!!

so far i've got a total of about 4 hours game play from completeing one campaign and playing a couple of games of versus.... thats more gameplay than the single player of CODMW2 had in the space or 2 plays through! there are still 4 more campaigns for me to play though as well as trying out the other game modes

It's defiantely worth it and is a far different game!

Just thought about this and YES it is the same as Left 4 Dead in the sense its the best Co-Op game around by a mile
Its great fun to play against the AI (and how many games can you say that about)
Its great fun against friends, its intense and often hilariously fun
It has unique achievements and level designs
Its tactical and the game play has a lot of different levels to it.
It also has some new and unique modes as well as some classics.

So yeah its like Left 4 Dead in the sense that its the understated and often overlooked game of the year!

I'm sick to buggery of people saying "Oh it's just an addon for L4D1 that should cost £10".

It's a sequel, what were you expecting? You got new game modes, new maps (5 massive maps which are better than the original), new special infected, improved graphics, improved physics (the awesome gore), dozens of new guns, new characters and excellent voice acting.

I'm sure most of the people saying it's not worth it don't have the game, or maybe base their impressions off the first two parts of the Parish campaign, which is one of the less interesting campaigns (and in daytime). Try going back to L4D1 and playing a campaign of that and then saying L4D2 is simply a £10 addon.

Do you feel the same way about Fifa? Football Manager? They're basically reskinned with a few new things each year.

L4D2 is a sequel. It does everything the first one does but better. Thats what sequels are.

I asked you a question, you slated L4D2 for being a "expansion" pack, when in fact it offers about the same level of content and changes that for example Modern Wafare 2 offered.

Fifa just update year on year, as do Football manager? Do you refuse to buy these games as well? or just Left 4 Dead 2?

L4D2 is different from L4D1 obviously but its not the same WOW as the first its more of a meh, L4D had so much potential but I think it failed to reach what it could have

Anyway yeah I think it was worth the money, I personally loved L4D1 and still love L4D2 - there are bits that are better and worse about this game comparing the two together but I do feel it was worth buying.

I love the new campaigns, new weapon, characters and game modes, and for £20 I can't grumble at tall. Plus this one is more of a challenge now, Expert is way tougher than L4D1 and versus/scavenger mode are good (I played one of each today)

oh and no, it's not revolutionary gameplay, but it is evolutionary

I love the game, obviously nothing majorely different from the original, but that is a good thing imo. Seems more polished than the first game when that first came out, and of course there are a few tweaks needed, but that is the same in any game.

Its like complaining about MW2 because it is the same as Call of Duty 1. Same game effectively, same mechanics, just better graphics, different maps and a few minor game play additions.
