Gay Sex Scene in Dragon Age: Origins.

I'm confused, you seem to think that just because children get hold of games that they shouldn't, there shouldn't be any adult content in them?

What about violence in games, should that be removed too regardless of age rating they put on the game, incase children play it?

What about movies, should they all be suitable for children?

What do you think of hetero/homo porn? should that be banned completely because children occasionally watch it?

Moley, you only see the sex scene if you ask him to go in your tent with you.
Just like the same 'child' might choose to access any kind of gay images/videos on the internet.
It's hardly explicit either is it!
If anything, this is the least worrying thing that a child will see in todays media/gaming world.
If a child can obtain an 18 rated game, then I'm sure they could buy, or see on tv, any number of films which involve gay or even rape scenes!

What an idiot! I vote ban.

No lets me fair now. What he wants is the entertainment industry to run everything pass him first just in case it offends him or his family.

So I think he wants to be a dictator? :confused: Much like MR "H"

I do think you need to work more on your speeches tho ;)
 
Its about time that videogames grew up and I'm glad that Bioware continue to push in this area. If anything the fact that you have to work on talking to this character and develop your relationship with them to some extent before you can share an intimate moment should be commended. Yes its not ideal and the dialog is cheesy in places but at least its opening the way to more mature character interactions in the future.

Op does not come across well.

You say come to my tent, screen goes dark, you see the two characters in their undies, screen goes dark.. thats it.. its not like they are penetrating your face..
 
God, it's hardly Brokeback Mountain is it? It's not promoting homosexuality any more than it's promoting killing undead dragons.

I'm all for games pushing back the boundaries and growing as an art form, but this Dragon Age really doesn't, the writing is dire, the only reason it has an 18 is the ludicrous violence and gratuitous swearing which seems firmly targeted at adolescent males.

OP so blatently homosexual... it says on the box sex e.t.c., its an 18 its full of violence e.t.c. and you dont think anything of that but one incy, wincy gay sex scene and all of a sudden its time to pull out the censors?

As a 33yr old I can't see a single thing wrong with it tbh. Romances in bioware games are hardly anything new, a gay one maybe but how is that different to seeing a lezzer scene in Mass Effect, which is another Bioware title.

Tbh I love how critics (not the OP) in general jump on the OMGWTFBBQ bandwagon at the slightest offensive thing nowadays. I wonder how the Phantasmagoria series (probably the most obscene, goriest series of games I've ever played) would be received if it were to released today.

Yup. Althought I note with interest that no one openly gay has come out and disagreed with me. Could be there are no gay people here of course but it strikes me as interesting that the predominantly straight community here has gone to such pains to defend a group to which they have no allegiance.

This is quite typical of our society nowadays of course - offence by proxy (I haven't seen it, it doesn't affect me directly but I'm offended goddammit!) and subsequently defence by proxy (oh he/she's a minority, you can't say bad things about him/her you hater).

We're not defending a group at all, we're simply saying it's YOUR problem that you are offended by it. You don't need to be 'allied' with homosexuals to spot someone who has a problem with it.
