*** Official BioShock 2 Thread ***

I was canny fortunate with capture mode - the trophy for capturing the sister is supposed to be glitched (lots of people complaining it doesn't unlock correctly) - the first and only game I played, I think everyone were clueless as to what to do, pinched the sister (unguarded room) and managed a capture (including the trophy unlock).

Not played that gamemode since! =)

Going to target rank 20 as my multiplayer target and then send it back to boomerang, cannot be bothered or like it enough to go for 40.

Throwing in the daddies into MP destroys the balance of a game.

Uh. Was pretty disappointed by this game, the only things it really added were bad IMO.

The story wasn't great and the ending gave me rage. I harvested 1 little sister in the entire game and still got the bad ending even though I'd tried to be good. All those terrible protect the sister minigames for nothing :(

Had you never played the first game? If you had you should have known even one harvest = bad ending. I dont even understand why you would even harvest some and rescue others, surely you pick one and stick with it?

Oh and one of the biggest things added to the game was the ability to use both Plasmids and Weapons at the same time and that made the combat much better over the first game IMO of course ;)

Played the MP for the first time last night, thought it was quite fun to be honest. Nice how much of a deviation there is in terms of gameplay between the single player and the multi-player

Hope you can unlock better characters as your rank goes up though as I dont like playing as that American Football dude one bit :p

Well I've just committed an epic fail...

First play-through I missed the research master achievement because I needed Thuggish Splicer and there isn't any in the later half of the game.

So decided I'd do a turbo run through just grabbing the research on easy with no vita chambers for brass balls as well.

Got to the end, got brass balls, but no research achievement...

Checked my research menu and I've missed Spider Splicer by like 1 little line of research! Its so close to the top I thought I had it :o :(

Can't believe I've managed to do that twice now!!!

I harvested one to show my mate what harvesting a little sister did as opposed to rescuing them.
Little sisters, it turns out, aren't the only things that affect the ending anyway, and I killed 2 out of 3 of the others IIRC :(

Sucks though, a lot of the time I was left wondering what the right decision was and what the wrong one was e.g. I wasn't sure whether killing Gil (I think thats his name) or letting him die would be the 'good' choice.

It wasn't a bad game but there's nothing stopping me trading it in tbh :( (PS3 version and trophies are pointless XD)

I'm enjoying the game though not sure yet if it's as good as the first. The new enemies make it challenging. Wasn't sure of I liked it at first having played through the first one 3 times but the more I play the more I get hooked.

Doing a very slow play through searching everything. Playing on hard with vita chambers off for more of a challege, it is quite tough but not frustratingly so. Only in Siren Alley at the moment.

I was robbed of the Saviour achievement and I saved every sister and let everyone live and it never popped /sigh

Stupid game.

I've not checked back in this thread since I got involved with this game. I completed it last night. Have to say, I really enjoyed it. The only trophy I missed was the visit all of the weapon upgrade machines... I'm sure I scouted all of them out.

The only things I felt were missing was...

- Revisiting some of the older places in Bioshock 1, I would have loved to see them 10 years later
- More cut senes/flash backs of rapture at its finest.

Really enjoying Multiplayer now :D

Apparently the Vending machines jingle was meant to be included! (Sorry if this has been re-posted)

Taken from the 2K Forum...

Hey Cultists -

I need to offer a bit of an apology. There was a question about a month ago on whether the vending machine voices would be returning in Bioshock 2. I answered an emphatic "Yes" because they had indeed been in the game and working just fine for most of production.

It seems like something happened during the final scramble to get the game shipped that turned off the vending machine voices. I don't know quite what broke along the way yet, we are still trying to figure that out. The bottom line is that they are not in the shipped version of the game.

In the grand scheme of things, I know this isn't a huge issue but it is one that I take seriously. I am pretty embarrassed by this and really apologize to you fans as I know how much that it is little things like that really bring Rapture to life. The world of Bioshock is certainly a little less colorful without them. This issue slipped by a lot of people as the game went out the door but ultimately the responsibility here lays with me.

Looking forward to the patch then :)

That's where I went wrong, I saved grace though, so I'm not sure whether I got the bad or neutral ending. Apparently there are 6 :S

6 different endings? Interesting. I've done a 'fully good' saving everyone, and a 'fully evil' killing everyone and harvesting all the little sisters.

Didn't know there were 'in between' version :D To youtube!!!

Playing through the first one again as I missed a load of achievements, man the atmosphere and story line is soars above B2.

I hope they manage to rekindle the first game's feeling with B3.

Also, noticed the 360 and the PC versions differ when you meet Ryan. In the PC you actually have to swing the putter to end Andy, on the 360 you're treated to a rolling sequence.

Today's random Bioshock fact brought to you in association with Rapture Records, found in Fort Frolic. :)
