Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Nah, it was fitted as part of the spoiler pack, I took it as given. A lot however weren't fitted when they were sold and thus never made it on the car or werent fitted properly and fell off. My dealer put mine on the back seat and said 'just needs a couple of plastic clips mate, off you go'.

The one ive just purchased has no splitter either which is annoying ..... Is the cheapest place the ktec racing ? £110 for the CF item .

I dont rightly know, its been a while since I've shopped for 172 parts, I remember that a lot of people that didnt get the splitter from renault bought the Ktec one, the renault one is/was outrageously priced, making the £110 for the carbon one a reasonable proposition.

Looks like I am getting a 182 too :) Going for the FF with both cup packs, and one that’s had a aftermarket exhaust, have around 6k to play with.

I sent to a RR yesterday where my friends 182 ran with a few mods and only made 168.8HP at the fly, apparently not many if any make over 170 at the fly why does Renault make these cars numbers eg 182 172 and they never make the figures, what gives? Yes its PS but even so always down.

Manufacturing differences mostly. The original 172 (MK2 phase 1) made good power, as did the 172 Cups. After that the differences in similar parts on the cars caused all kinds of problems. The MK2 Ph2 172's had differences of 3lbs on driveshafts for example and a whole host of other things. Inlet manifolds were different car to car too I believe.

Also, I'd take most RR readouts with a pinch of salt, bench testing an engine would the best way to get the true output, or taking it to a few more RRs and averaging the readouts.

Williams F7R's are where its at ;)

But looking at various sites and people who have the 182s everyone is not making the quoted power of 179BHP granted a RR is not 100% accurate but most are making around 168/169 so that must say something. He is going to get a custom sticker made and put Clio 168 for the LOLs :D You ask any Clio Sport owner and they will admit there car isn’t the quoted figure Renault claim.

As I said before, its down to manufacturing differences in parts, not all parts are from the same supplier/factory and tolerances are different.

There were owners that took their cars back to Renault because theyd tested them and they weren't making power, and Renault took them back for investigation/work under warranty. However, those owners were few and far between the general apathy for the problem from kids who'd just bought their first fast car meant nothing ever really happened on the larger scale.

Its not really anything new.

Quite a few people are saying that the bhp of your friends is down though and probably due to the induction setup he is running.

My new clio, picked it up a week ago today .... 18k and i got it for £6000 which i think is a bargin

My phase 1 always puts out decent enough power when being run.

Had a few runs now, all at powerstation, and by seeing what other standard cars (different manufacturers and models) were getting on the day you can work out roughly how much the rr is off by (I know it's never going to be accurate, but still...).

I just bought one of these today and I should have it early next week :)
2004 Clio 182 with both cup packs.

As above, mine annoyingly doesn't have a splitter. But I've read that you can get some for £10-20 which would usually fit a Megane (someone even has one from a Skoda Fabia) and it looks good, so I might pick one up on the cheap.

Does anyone know how they fit? Do you have to screw into the bumper?

I bought a 04 Clio 182 with cup packs on Friday, almost gone through three quarters of a tank of V-Power since buying it :D It's much quicker than the Saxo VTR it replaced, I seriously love that kick at 5k rpm :) I was dubious about the build quality after hearing lots of complaints but coming from my Saxo it's a big upgrade. The previous owner was good enough to fit a Milltek to it which gives it a nice roar but is not too boomy on the motorway.

One annoying thing is that I have only had it two & half days but I have already had three cars try to race me (Saab 9-3 1.8T, Golf GTI mk4 & E46 BMW 3 Series that was de-badged but only had a single exhaust - 318i?), I assume it's because it looks like a modded Clio with the dual exhausts so they assume I am some sort of boy racer? I owned my Saxo VTR 3 years and only had one guy try it on in that whole time. Maybe it was a bad time to take the Clio out for a drive what with it being a bank holiday and petrolheads taking their cars out for a thrash....

I only paid £4750 but the Tax runs out at the end of the month so I knocked £250 off. The previous owner treated the car to £750 worth of work at K-Tec Racing recently so fingers crossed I got a bargain :)

I picked up my 182 with both cup packs yesterday, coming from a 13 year old Corsa which I have driven for 7 years it is quite a step up. It is ridiculously fun to drive and I am in love with it.

It's an 04 plate, Arctic Blue and is fantastic condition. The only annoying thing is I think the PAS pump needs replacing already as it's whining very loudly when turning at low speeds or when turning the wheel when stationary. Has anyone else experienced this?

Has it had it's Aux Belt + Kit replaced recently ?
