Had a look at one at lunchtime and quite liked it. Looking at a video review online though, it seems that embedded flash videos don't play too well? Can anyone with one confirm this? I was hoping to be able to use websites with embedded video like break.com or gametrailers, etc but from the looks of it the videos play poorly? If that's the case, then the only thing flash will bring to the phone is higher download costs as there is more to load and just adverts! Can you turn flash off in the browser for when you are on 3G, etc as downloading adverts will just be annoying. That's one thing about the iphone I suppose - no annoying flash adverts. And if the HTC Desire can't handle flash content properly all I can see is that it brings adverts to the browsing experience
So two questions for owners:
1. Can you disable flash for when you are on 3G and don't want to use up bandwidth on adverts
2. Can the flash handle flash game websites and embedded flash films on review sites, etc?
Guys,
Tethering works AMAZING with this.
I've plugged it into my pc, set it to tether, and it automatically created a new network connection and then i was able to browse any site and stream youtube without issues. It took like no time at all.
Absolutely amazing.
First of all flash isnt available on the phone...its slated to be released around the 2nd half of 2010 so looking at almost year end. With that being said no one knows if Flash will be able to be turned on or off.
Im certain that the mobile version of flash will be able to handle gamesites and embedded flash films etc.
Yep have to agree with that...just tethered my laptop to my Desire and worked without a hitch...although make sure you install the HTC Synch program from the sd card as it wont work.
Once done it works perfectly well.
I don't have a Desire (yet), but this video suggests it does have Flash. Gives you an idea of how well it works as well.
How about if you remove the contact from your phone/sim so it doesn't recognise it?
I have a very strange problem with my Desire. Ever since I got it, I have been unable to receive phonecalls from 1 specific friend. It just always sends him straight to voicemail.
Likewise, if I try and phone him, I get sent straight to his voicemail.
Everyone else on my contacts is working perfectly fine both ways.
Quite puzzled by it.
There is a setting within the phonebook that sets a contact to be sent to VMS automatically. Might be set ??

Correct group of people?
Why haven't I got one of these yet? I sent an email 3 days? ago
You guys current customers? I keep sending mine as a non-vodafone customer?
MMM135 in the subject line? Contact details in the main body? Am I missing something![]()
Thanks, I'll take a look, no idea why that would have happened to the one person, but maybe I had an attack of fat fingers
EDIT : Although, come to think of it, that wouldnt explain why I go straight to his voicemail to if I ring him.

Does anyone know how to refresh the contact pics? Mines seem to still be old ones?
