Best thing to come out of this election is the BNP losing tons of seats they had in local councils as well as failing to win a single seat. Don't let the door hit your backsides on the way out folks.

While I tend to agree, you can't ignore the fact that over half a million people voted for them all in all. As disgusting as they are, they got a lot of votes, I'm just amazed, they never got any seat wins, to be honest.

At the end of the day.........
They are all full of poo!
It's us that aren't in the government who always pay and pay for their failings in the name of you and me who voted them in or not!!

well I voted conservative in the early 90's because as a serving soldier they were for the forces. I now vote labour because as a working class citizen they are for the workers and families. so most arent dim, you are for thinking as such!

Well that's a somewhat good and obvious point-amongst many reasons, people vote for whoever they thing will serve their best interests. The fact that they do change their minds-which has been illustrated last night is a good enough reason to refute the comment to which you were initially responding.

Tbh the amount Margaret Hodge's vote went up and the fact that out of 12 councilors not one kept their seat smells a little, there have been stories for a week or more about possible fraud attempts and in this case it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

British National Party: 0 563,743
Green: 1 285,616
Social Democratic & Labour Party: 3 110,970

In the UK it seems that the less votes you get the more seats you get...

Worrying that the BNP are now the 5th most popular party though.

I'd have to disagree, while that's a happy enough result the cupcake I was given earlier is far and away the best thing about this election from my point of view.

It is somewhat disappointing that the BNP have apparently gained so many extra voters, even if many would label their selection as a protest vote.

Also perhaps recognised as knowing how and where to pick your battles. The SDLP are in Norn Iron so much smaller constituencies and have neither lost or gained any seats, in fact aside from the Greens none of the parties highlighted has had any movement in the number of seats they hold although there has been movement in the numbers voting for them.

Indeed
that coupled with the stopping of the 1% Ni raise, everyone in the country would do well out of it, it would cover any raise in VAT for anyone who works, and make the vat increase claim back money from spongers.

Spongers... what an amazing but true word. Great :D

I think we are clearly going to have a Conservative Labour Pact with good old Gordon at the helm... what do you guys think?

Maybe he could even bring back Tony as chancellor for a little role reversal. Woot

Another Lib-dem supporter here who wants con-lib coalition. See, some of us do actually dislike Labour and aren't all for a lib-lab coalition you know guys.:p

Although i voted conserv , i was considering a lib vote.. previously a bnp supporter.. A con-lib i wouldn't mind
