*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

the amoled screens are bit poor quality when it comes to images and text compared to normal LCD, too much hype on amoled.

each time i bought a new phone screen image looked better, this is bit fuzzy, excuse the whine. lol

I think I may have solved the sync groups issue, strange as the solution is the exact same as when I had my Magic before Wysie's modified contacts.apk became a part of Cyanogen rom.

Does this prevent unwanted email address's from gmail showing up in the compose message field? If it does, could you go through it again please? :)

This is how I'm set up atm. I've made a group in gmail through the bowser, named it 'Phone'. When adding a contact on the Desire, I set it to google account instead of the phone and place the contact in the 'Phone' group. In the 'View' settings, all I have ticked is 'Google' and unticked the 'Show auto Gmail contacts'.

In gmail contacts, all I have is the default groups and the group I've made, no contacts are in the defalt groups. I only use it for phone contacts which I want to back up. The unwanted email address's are say, the people I email when buying on the OcUK MM. They automatically go in the 'Most Contacted' group and don't show up on the phone list. Though I want to get rid of them in the compose message bit, is it possible?

Ehh !!!! . Somethinks not quite right here ? The clarity i have on my Desire is quite stunning. Ok its not a 1080p LCD HDTV , but poor, i dont think so personally

I can say for sure the screen quality looks far better on my Desire compared to the Milestone i had before, and the colours are in a different league also.

You know I can see why people like the iphone so much using this phone, everything just works out of the box..im having more and more issues with crashes and things not working as time goes on

That's for 2.1, for a first gen cdma device ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if 2.2 does require a wipe however, especially if its gunna implement apps2sd at the same time.

Roll on the 19th of May :D

With the 2.2 release, any one know if we are going to be able easily install this update when it's released or are we going to have to wait until the operators have signed it off and pushed it out to phones on their network?

all phones have niggles, and the iphone is not immune to them either

I've had mine since the first days they were available. Not one phone crash yet :) I've had the odd app force close (mainly Swype but that is beta).

For anyone with a Vodafone Desire, does it come unlocked or is it full of VF branded apps? I'm being put off Orange by the fact their Desire's are full of Orange apps that can't be removed unless you reinstall a fresh version of the OS.

Doesnt have any voda branding on at all. Only voda app installed is the sim toolkit.

Just on that note has anyone else that joined voda as a new customer had any documentation from them yet? All I have had is the phone and the sim. Got no idea what my account number is, when they intend to take any money from me or my billing date or anything else for that matter?

Got mine today, phones great but going to stick with my old phone... whats the going rate for these phones now?

You've used it for less than a day and already decided you dont want it? What was the point in buying it in the first place?

Some people confuse me.

Well first Google will release 2.2, then we'll have to wait for HTC to "Sense" it up, then you can either put HTC's version on or wait for your network to produce their branded version.

I'd wager there'll be minimal delay between the initial release and HTC's Sense version but then the delay in the network branded versions is anyone's guess. Hopefully they'll not take too long so as not to risk any bad press for such a "prestige" handset.
