*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Same deal as mine, expect I have the original colour. You might want to consider installing a generic ROM when you get if if you can't live with all the annoying demos which can't be removed.

The Orange apps aren't that annoying, it's not like you have to click them and watch them lol. The logo on the back gets on my nerves more. :(

Is it possible to unlock an O2 pay as you go HTC Desire for free? If not how much will it cost?
I bought one on PAYG from CPW this evening. £410 which was £400 for the phone with a £10 O2 PAYG topup. Completely sim free it's £450 there. They just picked up a sim free phone and gave me a sim too so I guess it's unlocked.

I'm looking for an app that will send a pre written text at a pre defined time, any suggestions? I don't think handcent does this which is what I'm using, or if its possible at all.

I don't understand. I got the phone and a contract with days for 450 total...

Mine should arrive tomorrow, looking forward to some Android goodness after using Symbian for so long. I'm really going to miss the form factor of the N97 though!

another question, how good or how bad is the camera on these? the HD touch is OK at best anything but perfect lighting conditions and its pretty rubiish compared to my old n95, i know the desire has a flash so id appreciate if anyone could post a couple random snaps :)

Just a little heads up that are on a 12 or 18 month contract with Vodafone. Check that you are on that length of contract.

Some one on VF forum said they had been put on a 24 month contract by 'error'. He only found out when he rang up to speak to them about this 500MB malarky.

I should hopefully get the case(pdair book style) delivered today(as it's past midnight, been 26/27 days since I ordered it), got the email yesterday saying that it's been dispatched.

now it's just the screen protector I have to wait for, preodered the official one(£4.99) on 7th april but still no sign of it. the release date has kept been put back.

I was in the car earlier and the phone slipped out my hand as I was unplugging it from the radio. It managed to land screen-down on the un-machined metal rail that the seat slides on. It had what looked like a massive scratch in it...

Which was just dirt from the landing. That screen is hardcore.

For free?

The way MPD do it is use your free bolt on to get the standard internet. If you phone tmobile and go yo it's a desire, they'll automatically, free of charge, swap it to internet plus and free up the booster for free texts/free landline calls/whatever you choose.

I like to keep things neat, so having 4-5 game demos that can't be removed was annoying. Not to mention the orange branding on apps.
