However, it doesn't matter what Brown can offer as the coalition cannot get enough numbers without the Nationalist parties.
Equally the people gave the most seats and votes to Tories, as such even by Cleggs own view, they should be the ones forming the government

Yes current government has the (unwritten rule) chance of trying first, but there was no need for Clegg to meet Brown. He could have simply said "not interested, the people have voted. there are only 3 outcomes...."

Or he could have said "Rypt has no idea what he's talking about and insists on spouting the same old ****. Let's actually do what's right and speak to all parties and then make an informed decision."

It's not his fault? As party leader he commands the respect of his party, and as such should be able to hard sell them the idea of joining the Tories.
If he can't then he's either a weak leader, or he wants "more".

Clegg was obliged to talk to both parties, that takes time. So NO, it's not his fault. He's the Leader of a Party, not a dictator. He has to encourage them to do what he believes to be the right thing.

You were arguing they had won, several days ago and you've had a bee in your bonnet ever since. Today's drama is a continuation of the theme. I've clearly explained why I think your view is wrong. I am at a loss to understand how you can sit there and say otherwise!
