That's the beauty of the fixing of the tax bands, it rewards the workers, especially if some of the tax is shifted to non-essential spending taxes.

You wanted a fairer taxation system though? meaning you pay less?
Just because the funds are perhaps overspent on the safety net for those out of work doesn't mean that there aren't those at the poorer end of society who shouldn't be supported.
Taxation funds need to be directed better, I don't think they can afford to tax you less though...
