*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I just put a foam pad sticker on out of good practice, no reason why it should scratch, just a safety measure if I rush one day.

anyone know how to get rid of the low memory icon in the taskbar?

i've got 13mb of space left and want to use it for apps without being told i'm low on memory constantly :)

Mine finally arrived from MPD this morning so should be waiting for me getting home from work tonight :)

Just need to get it up and running with some tune sand movies for the plane tomorrow. I take it if i call T-Mobile tonight they wont be able to transfer my old o2 number over in time?.... I have the PAC code ready.

Is this the Belkin charger you have?
I'm about to modify my Brodit mount so it can use the above charger (and a solar battery as well), by removing the cig plug power unit and replacing it with a USB plug.

I have the same charger, bought it ages ago unfortunately it doesn't work in my car or my girlfriends (fiesta).

It does however work in my mate's golf. Really annoying, just felt like it wouldn't quite go all the way into the socket. Like it was too fat at the top or something.

What causes the market to stall on 'Starting download' or 'Authorizing purchase' when downloading apps? I have about 13mb left, is that the problem? :/

the pdair case arrive today(in the last 15mins or so) :)
now just waiting for the screen protector.

edit: just checked my pre-order status on our favourite etailer from jersey, it's on processing now so hopefully I'll have it by next week(like 1 1/2 months after pre-ordering it).

Anyone on Vodafone with the Desire - what sort of data usage you getting daily/monthly as I am reading they are capping at 500mb and then charging for data thereafter from 1st June!

There's a thread about USB charging over on AndroidForums. A lot of people have found that the GPS drains power faster than the handset can charge over USB, so even if you have it powered in the car, the battery will still run down.

It seems that it draws between 400-450mA on USB whilst, when using the supplied AC adapter, it pulls closer to 800mA. The unit is able to distinguish between USB and AC sources (it tells you which is in use in Settings) by virtue of the D+ and D- lines being shorted on dedicated USB power supplies which can supply at least 1A. Whilst pulling this extra power from a car lighter socket is obviously no issue, not all car adapters are rated up to 1A and even those that are, like the Belkin I have, don't short the data lines to let the unit know it can draw more power.
Just to confuse matters, my cheap Tesco car charger is seen as an AC power source by the Desire but has a sticker on it saying Output: 500mA. I'll leave the GPS on during my next journey on see if I get an overall charge or run down.
