thats a pic of the drop where the guy is standing at the bottom

thinking rockshox tora'ish range but wanting about 120 travel

yeah i was at learnie on saturday, awesome day out appart from my m8 getting his chainring caught on the back of his leg :(

really enjoyed the orange run :p

i plan on heading upto wildcat on monday as im on hols next week

As long as both bolts are below the top of the steerer it'll be fine.

Ok done them up, they seem to have tightened up equally so i dont think ill have problems, fsa pig headset for £15 cant complain even if it does leave my steerer a little short lol.
I will never fit a headset myself again, took me almost 3 hours to get those cups in, they are a very tight fit. Ill run into a LBS for them to double check my retro fitting :)

RobotXander, Torch, i need your opinions (or anyone else really)
Got 1 day of insurance left for my mums car so im going to try and get out tomorrow.
Im going to have my Stinky so need downhill/freeride style stuff (but small stuff, because im a pussy :p )
Choices are either:
Learnie - not far away (cheap for diesel), not a huge place but a good orange run with jumps and a nice flowy blue thats good fun. Guaranteed not to be a disappointment, but maybe there's something better?
Other choices are golspie or fochabers. Both are about the same distance from inverness, but both are further than learnie. Being a skint student, i dont want to spend more on diesel for something that isnt any better than learnie.
Whats your opinions guys?

I know that this is a boring question which will only interest about 2% of forumites, so here's some shineyness to un-dull the thread:

(I'd love a 29er...just maybe not one that costs £4500)

New video from Chris Akrigg

Probably my favourite rider and has been ever since I started doing trials ages ago, he's so creative. The (attempted) stunt at the end is just

Yeah, brilliant riding, I posted his two previous videos earlier in the thread. No doubt his trials stuff is impressive but I really enjoyed watching him combine it on a trail ride.

On the 'squishy bike'? :) I agree, it's cool to watch him go from regular trials, to the brakeless stuff (like on the Earthed vids) and now into a more DJ/street style.

Superfly 100 is okay, if I were going for carbon I prefer the look of the Santa Cruz Tallboy, but as it is I love my Turner Sultan.

I would suggest Learnie. From what I've heard it's great fun and prob just what you're after. Nice fast blue, and the orange
Golspie is also fantastic but more technical (jumps, drop off's etc). The Blue is also fun but a bit short

They dont always, our place looked into it and decided the admin would far outweigh any savings. Guess it depends on the size of company.

I suppose so, I guess we are quite lucky as we have somebody who is employed to sort out discounts with big companies for our staff, eg 10% off Dell, 25% off Panasonic etc. etc.

Have you been to the new trails at the Lecht, Touch? I have to check it out some time as it isn't far away from me.
Good call! Really want to check that out sometime. Stupidly expensive though :( £25 for a day pass and £10 for the "skills park" - how do they get away with that? i assume you dont even need to go up the chairlift for the skills park?
Its only open weekends in May anyway, so cant do that tomo.

I would suggest Learnie.
Thats decided it then, cheers :)

It's a fair price for a low end spec bike. If it's only going to be used for the occasional family ride then it will be fine. If you want to get into mountain biking proper or think you might in the near future then look else where.

What and where should I be looking at for a decent bike around 180-220? I'm checking gumtree and eBay at the moment.

Thanks

Need some advice please, looking to get my first bike for use on the weekends, nothing too hard etc. I'm looking to buy second hand but just want your opinions and advice.

I've seen the following bike for sale for 200, only used a couple of times etc with extra kit too. Is it a good deal and any good?

Thanks

Buy their Rocky Mountain instead, this is only down the road from me :)
