*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Ever posted on the forum with voice to text?

Quite fun :p

How do i do that? I've downloaded something in settings > text to speech but it doesn't seem to do anything ?

Also is there a way to view folders without them being added to the home page ? only way i can find the folders is by pressing the plus + key which then adds the folder to the homepage. I also wish to delete a couple of those folders to but so far can't see how?

Thanks.

That's my only concern at the moment, how did you do that?

I'd like to know this too?

Will have a google

when i say sync i mean music, podcasts etc (obviously)
the app is http://www.binaryfortress.com/itunes-sync/

basically you chuck your stuff in itunes and then you choose what playlists, folders etc to sync to the phone, its literally like an extra 2 clicks - works really well and saves the hassle of draggin dropping onto the sd card if you regularly use itunes or used to the iphone syncing and means you can continue to use itunes to organise music and dl podcasts.

Just click drag folders down to the bin but to voice search just follow the Nimbu link I posted earlier which goes through the steps.

For anyone who wants a desire but hates using a touch screen keyboard:

wala!

Just got my optional pouch, nice quality but it's quite a tight fit, will need to stretch it a bit with a calculator or something :p

Still waiting on my nexus one pouch from hk. Phone has held up incredibly well in its first month with no protection though.

I do like the idea of a hardware keyboard nut the prediction on the touch one is amazing! Only problem I have with it is the tendency to press . instead of space. I'm getting better at that though I just don't like the landscape keyboard so always stick to portrait.

Oh it will naturally stretch over a week or so :)

Yeah I've read a bit about it, I'm just being cautious though as the stitching can leave very faint marks on the back of the phone. It's not really a problem as I can order a new back at any time but I've stuck the girlfriends old iPhone in there to stretch the case for the time being.

It's about the only thing it's good for. :D ;)

I have the same problem, I though I was weird. I get on much better with the portait keyboard (not what I expected), and pressing full stop instead of space with my right thumb (on landscape) drives me bonkers.

Have you tried Swype, ThickButtons, or any other alternative keyboard?

Is there anywhere in England selling the N1/Android cases, don't much fancy waiting 2 weeks for one :(

(I'm pleased with the leather one I just got, but I wouldn't mind a fancy spare :p)

(In preparations reading about 2.2 and what not):

Am I right in thinking if you use this - http://android.modaco.com/content/h...ustom-rom-for-htc-desire-with-online-kitchen/

Remove the HTC Sense thing from the kitchen, you'd remove the Sense UI and have a standard Android Launcher for 2.1? Just wondering as I might give it a bash :p

Or just wait for the 2.2 Froyo version that should be out soon (should it not?)

So, you can use that to effectively turn your Desire into a Nexus One, is there an easier way?

I just hope HTC/FroYo implement voice dialling over Bluetooth correctly - I've read a couple of forum comemnts that it's not quite as good as it should be....

Well seems as the Hero is still waiting for 2.1 i wouldn't hold your breath for Froyo on the desire anytime soon to worry about voice dialing :p

GOT MINE TODAY! and im in love already :)

There were people reccomending incar kits (Holder and charger) from ebay earlier in the thread, any links, cant remember what page they were on? :(

I'm at the 15 Month (out of 18) contract upgrade point (due tomorrow), So i went into Phones4U today to see what they can offer, he came up with a deal consisting of:- 600 mins, unlimited texts/internet/gps/orange maps/50 photo messages, for £35 p/m and that's if I trade in my Nokia 5800XM I think.

Any suggestions, seems steep : /
