He scored 31 league goals in a season for Fiorentina, not many score more than 30 in serie A.

He has tended to underperform for Italy though.

oh i'm sure he's a decent striker really, it's just every time i've sat through an entire match in which he's been playing, I've seen him miss more often than a blindfolded bendtner.

Oh come on, Bendtner wouldn't find the field if there wasn't players walking ahead of him :p

Looks like we will have Beckford by Tuesday. Apparently completed the second part of his medical today.

Hopefully he'll just be a squad player and not a first choice option. We really need a good striker at Everton. If he does rubbish and doesn't get like 10 goals next season, hopefully we will be able to flog him off for a few thousand next season to a League 1 team or something.

I think 10 goals is a realistic expectation from him, but he needs game time from the start.

When he's on his game he's unplayable, but I think if he loses confidence he'll be nowhere.

In the games against United Dzeko looked ok, Grafite looked poor...and look at how many goals they've got in that league. Didn't that **** Liverpool striker (I know I need to narrow it down :p) get a bunch there as well?

Here

Worse places I suppose :p

I just think someone on that message board has been looking at me playing FM10 when it came out.
First transfers in:

Eden Hazard.
Moussa Sissosko
Gabby Abonglahor
Marek Hamsik.
And failed bids for Nevan Subotic and Diego Alves.

All strangely enough had stories about them being linked with united this window.

Some big murmurs abound concerning Joe Cole joining Man.U.
Now I love him, but I love the player we had 2 years ago not the one we have now and his poor form has nothing to do with injury as that was ages ago and he's had plenty of time and opportunities to get back to where he was, sadly I don't think he ever will.
CA is a big fan of his and he's commented that 'he's not the player he knew' and there wouldn't be the doubt about him going to SA if Capello thought he still had it.
Chelsea aren't daft either, if they let him go it won't be down to wage demands (they can match MU if they want) it'll be because he's simply lost it, and from what I saw of him last season (every game) he has.

4 year £22m deal is what I've been hearing.

That's about £105k pw (as he'll be free) if Chelsea wanted him they could match that easily enough.
If they don't it's obvious they don't want him & if he goes it can't be for anything else than money as both sides have the same potential for trophies, he could easily become another Owen.

he's just decided he's had his fun messing around and now it's time to try and write his name among the legends of a club with a real tradition.

I reckon.
