So basically, no cross realm, no stat resets and no chat rooms? Well played blizzard...

Not good. However im sure the modders/hackers will be able to whip up a LAN play version of the game in no time. Hell, they managed to build half decent AI from nothing so im sure LAN is do-able

Maybe Bnet 3.0 will be made by SC people??
 
Just had a game where some guy harvested 150 gas then flew his command centre over to my base, landed it next to my command centre (just as his SCV's stormed my base) and turned it into a planetary fortress......

He lost badly. I asked him if that had ever worked and he just left the game :D
 
seems like EVERY game I play is VS zerg and they ALL seem to mass rush roaches?
is there some bug or other that lets them have 5-9 roches when I've only got 3-4 marines?

Your build order must be wrong. You can build 4-6 marines and 4 marauders by the time his roach warren finishes with the standard 3 rax, 2 with tech lab and 1 with reactor infantry opening. That amount of infantry can easily hold off 5 roaches.

Or if you see he's getting a lot of roaches, build some bunkers to hold him off. Get a factory with tech lab, build a starport and switch out the factory's tech tab for the starport and build a banshee. If he's invested heavily in roaches you'll probably win before he can get hydra out.
 
I'm Mart - Martin T (feels too wierd post surname on the forum so I won't) will be on this afternoon.

Some good news, this phase of beta has been extended a week, so the servers won't shut down on the 31st but on the 7th instead.

That other interview seemed much more standard, at least they confirmed that you could play single player offline, just need to activate the game once online.

scv,scv,scv,supply,rax,marine,marine,orbital,scv,vespine,2nd rax, scan his base, no troops there as they where half way across the map (warren was up) 1st maruder comes out and he's blowing up my block. walks in and kills everything.

so your build order seems to be:

6 - scv
7 - scv
8 - scv
9 - supply
9/10 - rax, 2 marines
11 - gas?

This is what I tend to do as terran against all 3 races:

6/7/8 - scvs
9 - gas (put 3 in straight away)
11 - rax
11 - depot
12 - orbital command. at this point I like to summon down supply but most people prefer to mule, I find that if I mule at 12 it just doesn't work so well when I get supply locked at 19
12 - tech lab
13 - shells@tech lab and a reaper for some cute harass or skip if if you dont want to.
14 - 1st marauder@rax
15+ - whatever you like

I find that it just (for the most part) flows quite well between the stages and sets you up for a very nice stimmed marine and marauder push early/mid game where you can safely take your natural expansion while putting some pressure on the enemy. What do the better players think?
