*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

I rooted my phone last night and all went well :) but now I want to put a custom rom onto it, i think im going to go with Pays sense+Apps2SD rom.

My problem is, is there a step by step guide on how to install the new rom..

Pays says..

Before installing:
-You need ROOT access to flash this ROM.

-Put your Desire in Recovery Mode

-Fully wipe Data and Cache / wipe Dalvik-cache / wipe SD:ext

-Flash latest ROM from SD Card

but im confused as to how i do this :(

Oh, and Yahoo mail is supported by Android too. (Pop, not push, unless it's changed)

It does, however you need to be rooted first :(

Once you are rooted this will do everything you ask, as far as I am aware there is nothing that allows a full and precise backup pre-root. :(

Oh balls :(

Cheers Robbo

Yay, managed to put a custom rom onto my Desire :), wasnt any where as hard as I though or looks when you read up about it.

TUT is writing a tutorial on how to route, flash and return to default over on xda which should help people like me :), unfortunately the only bit he hasnt written at the momnet is how to flash :(

It's extremely easy, none of the guides around are much good at all in all honesty, they need to dumb things down so people know what to do, not what they are doing is doing :p (lol)

Or something to that effect.

I might make a site myself and just write a straightforward guide on there, will probably be quite popular, not sure.

Yep a straightforward guide would go down well :), ive just partitioned my sd card for apps2sd and downloaded most the apps i had on before and ive still got 138mb of internal storage left :).

Also ive not noticed any slow down of apps using the SD card as storage and thats with a 16gb class 2 card ....impressed so far :)

The problem with 'dumbing it down' is by doing so, you need to add more information, and doing so makes it look more daunting on first glance.

Perhaps, I still think I could do a better job than some of the attempts so far.

Will have to have a think about it :p

I have the griffin smarttalk, it works fine for answering, ending calls plus pausing and resuming songs/audio books(doesn't skip through tracks etc tho).

reading all this rooting talk is really tempting me but I'm trying to resist :)

Just noticed my calender can synch with my calender on gmail.

What about my contacts do they too? How do I find them?
