*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

There is no way it's going to be anywhere near £600

Hopefully it will still be in the £400-£500 price range. How can a phone be the same price as the ipad....and not a million miles away from an imac?

with any luck apple will do away with the 3g and 3gs and just have the 4 as the standard

I hope anyway

There's going to be a new 3GS 8Gb available, as well as the 4 16Gb/32GB models. Everything else will have been superseded.

Hmm, my iPhone 3GS has a little crack in it by the dock (known fault) - will they still replace it with no complications? (got it in like October last year). Would be handy if I sell it to upgrade :p

Email from Orange about iPhone 4

Hello

Now the launch on 24 June is not far away, we wanted to give you a little taster of what you can look forward to with the iPhone 4 on Orange.

Our 3G network covers 93% of the UK giving more people what they need to get the best iPhone experience. Download apps and music faster, browse and email, flip through iBooks, even Multitask. Whatever you love, wherever you are…

You’ll also enjoy great benefits like Orange Wednesdays – bringing you 2 for 1 cinema tickets and pizza at PizzaExpress.

We’ll be in touch again on Tuesday 15 June to tell you how you can reserve your iPhone 4. So keep your eyes peeled.

That’s all for now.

Orange

Which screen protectors are everyone buying? I don't want a case on mine, just an invisible shield of some sort possibly covering the front and back.

Anyone ordered anything yet? I want it before I get the phone, it's going straight on!

I am eager to get my hands on a white one, hoping its under £500 on PAYG! The 32GB one...

I think they will be seriously deluded if they priced it in that range - especially for current iPhone owners, as the phone is not that much different.

Well the price hasn't changed in America, so the chances are the prices won't change much, if at all over here either.

My 2006 Macbook cost £1000+ but I wouldn't expect to have to pay over £1000+ for a Macbook these days just because they used to cost that much. Prices drop for all electronic items.

Just thinking as my PAYG 3GS 16GB was £440 with a free call in the same post code and free unlimited data. Although my total call usage is 1 day and 17 hours for the entire year, a lot of those calls were made within the post code (calling from friends gets covered by this too). So I would say I've probably spent £2-300 in calls and texts. Making £6-700 in total over the year - ignoring apps and the developer licence I have.

Now I would be looking that the iPhone4 fits into that model.. Say 700 - 240 for data tariff - 50 for additional calls = ~£410 for the phone on PAYG itself.

The jump to the iPhone 4 is going to be interesting for me. I've never owned an iPhone before, or any 'smart phone' for that matter. However, I religiously use my iPod Touch 3G daily. I now also own (and love) an iPad.

I'm really looking forward to finally using the same UI for my mobile phone needs. I've had a Sony C902 since 2008. It's not a bad phone but it's really showing its age now. About the best feature of it is the 5mb cybershot camera.

I'm a bit confused about something though. I'm going to go with Orange as I've been with them since the Nokia 3210 days and am due an upgrade. I'm reading here that Orange count Wi-Fi usage when calculating your monthly data usage? Surely this doesn't apply to private Wi-Fi networks? It's just BT Hotspots right?

Why would Orange count data usage that's not even going via their network when you're surfing from home? BT hotspots are really not worth the cash unless you're running a laptop..

Dunno mate. Nothing surprises me with Mobile networks. I just wanted to make sure. I've had 3G turned off on my C902 for the past year to save the battery life!

Just phoned o2, and no signs of pre-order dates other than the 24th. or the woman didnt have a clue her self!

The chap on the phone told me yesterday that I can pre-order on the 15th.

For me, I have to pay £160 towards my remaining line rental and then 'apparently' I will get the choice of either a 16 or 32gb model?!

I'm going to be calling them again this weekend for some more clarity as I don't think that information was exactly correct. I actually phoned in the first place to amend my e-mail details and he hinted how to sort it, but I actually solved it myself. Silly call centre monkeys.

What's it like signing up to a contract in-store? Is it a tiresome process? Just thinking I might pop down to my local Orange store on release day and get an iPhone 4, but I've never gone on pay monthly before, always been on pay as you go...

Flick back a few pages...
On a more happy note, my 11 month & 20 days old 32GB 3GS that had a tiny crack in it.... it's just been REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW MINT CONDITION ONE XD

Wonder how much I could flog it for instead of O2 Recycle...
Went to a Genius appointment yesterday lunch-time :D
