*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

The main reasons I rooted was for apps2sd but increased functionality is also good but the increased battery life had been the biggest unexpected bonus.

I'm also one of those people who of it ain't broke has to mess around with it anyway :-) as o bet are a lot of people who come onto OCuk.

I rooted so I could use backup apps properly as it annoys me no end having to reset everything back up if something goes wrong....

Edit: meant to say - since rooting I seem to have reclaimed around 30MB of spare internal memory space :)

Anyone know this? I'm already a T-Mobile customer.

Can't use a PAC to get a better deal with the same network, that's the point. You can 'become a new customer' and get a new number though. If you want a better deal, and the same number, usually moving networks is the way to do it. It depends on how badly they want you (retentions).

I flashed to the 2.2 defrost rom version 8, but my browser just force closes all the time. I did do a titanium backup + restore as i wiped/factory reset when i flashed.

Any ideas?

Hmmm, how much do I care about my old number? It is a pain telling people about the new one but it would be nice to have a fresh start and stop crazy people from the past 3 years trying to contact me again :o.

Anyone know if you still get 3gb FUP if you order T-Mobile through mobilephonesdirect? I've heard its only 1gb when purchased third party??

what deal are you thinking about just out of interest?

I'm stuck between.....

Orange - 18 month - 100mins - Unlim Text - 500mb :( with quidco comes to just £19 a month! But that 500mb data is killer.

T-Mobile - 18 month - 100 mins - Unlim Text - 3gb FUP
£25 pm £40 for the phone. Works out £150 more over the term, but I don't fancy getting stung by the 500mb Orange data limit.

I'm in a real pickle. If I go for the Orange deal I can just use my PAC code and be done with it. If I go for the T-Mobile deal I'll have to transfer my number twice to get it back to T-Mob.
But the Orange phone appears to be a branded butthurt piece of ****. I'd rather not HAVE to flash a new ROM the day I get the damn thing.

i'm in the exact same quandry mate. My o2 contract is up a month from today, so tomorrow they will be able to negotiate, although I hear o2 aren't doing a thing for retaining customers at the moment, and their new customers deal will be the same for me, which is 18 month - 300 min - Unlim txt - Unlim data (which I think is going to go down to 500mb)

I hadn't seen that T mobile deal you mentioned though, have you seen that through their official site or through a reseller?

looks free rather than £40 on there, does look good though, I wanted to cut some money off my £25pcm tarriff but for the same price getting a new desire would be very very good. I just have no idea about good T-Mobile are and how much coverage in my area etc.

18 month says £40 for me.

I agree about the 500mb, just sounds a little low to me. 3gb is much more like it
