*** The Official HTC Desire (Bravo) Thread! ***

Down to 48% since I posted, and I haven't done anything on the phone other than read one email and send one text :(

(screen has been off too)

I think your phone is as bad as mine! Everyone on here seems to be getting really good battery life...
I wonder what is so different

Sometimes my phone can do 2-3 days......other times it does about 6 hours & this is with pretty much the same usage.

I have noticed, no word of a lie here lol, that when I put my phone on one part of my desk at work my battery lasts ages, when I move it to the other side my battery goes flat much faster. Looking at it the only difference is the signal level, I guess the phone is using more power to try to get a better signal or something.

My touch hd could be like that, sometimes id use it allweekend and it would get low on sunday evening or monday am and othertimes it would need charging each day..... :)

hmmm with 2.2 hopefully due soon i wonder how long Orange, if they ever do release an update, or will it still update from google ota rather than from Orange?

Pretty sure it's like this:

Google provide base 2.2
HTC customise it per phone - this image goes to the network developers who re-brand them
Image sent back to testing at HTC
HTC send it back to customers once all approved.

buymobilephones have no stock apparently and don't have a 'confirmed date for next delivery' :(

Putting on your website that you'll be getting stock on the 15th when you've already sold them all is slightly misleading

Trying to do the same thing, installed wireless tether and the app works but I get no net connection through it for some reason, going to mess with it more later.

Create a folder on your ess dee card called android.tether and put this file

Code:
http://robbiekhan.co.uk/root/android/android.tether/fw_bcm4329.bin

Into that folder. install the latest Wireless Tether For Root Users and run it.

You may now browse porn in your secret porn basement where normal broadband may not reach.

Is there anyway to hide facebook contacts from showing up on the phone?

Go into the contacts list then hit menu then people then menu again on the next screen then press view.

Untick facebook.

I think i needed to clear the contacts cache in the Settings, Application menu before it worked though.

When you add your Facebook account quickly turn of syncing of contacts for it in the Settings -> Accounts & Sync area. If you have already added it removing the account from the phone will get rid of them then you can add the account again.

This won't put the contacts on there at all (but you can still use the Facebook app to look at your news feed etc ...)
