*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Just been speaking to Three, they said its not possible to cut down a standard sim to a Micro Sim because the technology is different. Is this Three covering their own backs telling me not to do it?

I know people have done it with iPads, but the iPad doesn't receive phone calls, so is it possible they're telling the truth?

This just gets better and better... lol.

You saved us all from hacking up our sims :) (if its true that is, which I doubt)

I know, its an shambles really. :( I want to spend money on all these networks but none of them want me. :(

Spend £500 on a phone and I won't even be able to receive any calls with it.

Dont think so. They are the same, they have the same chip in them, and the chips hold the same data.

What the guy was telling you is probably true for the iPad micro-sims. They'll be provisioned for a data network only, so they wont hold any account data for a voice network.

However it should work the other way around as an iPhone micro-sim will hold both voice and data details, just like a normal sim.

Thanks, its only £5 to order from 3 I think, so I might just take my chances and cut it down.

Still going to hope o2 send one out or let me pick one up in store, without locking me into a Simplicity contract.

wonder if i'm just dreaming here but,

as an existing o2 customer due an upgrade since start of march, would they offer the handset cheaper than those prices stated on their website, eg £119 for handset on the 18mth 40ppm contract, would they offer the handset for much less for renewing ??

I'd love to know how many preorders apple have taken for the iPhone 3GS 8GB. Seriously, at that price, whats the point with so many 16GBs/32GBs being inevitably available around release. But hey... who am I to knock apple's price and marketing strategies

Network next to never ever discount on iPhones due to the high demand of them

Anyone else reserved one in store and got the confirmation email, yet when you go onto your account reservations it says you have none?

Is your spreadsheet correct mate?

For the simplicity 12 months @ £15 that should come to £500 + £180 = £680 shouldn't it. Where's the other £90 come from to make it £770?

Am i missing something?

Simplicity for iPhone starts at £20. No idea why it should be any different to the normal Simplicity plans but there you go.

I reserved, had no email nor does it say anything in my account. I might phone up the store and ask, because im relying on it

Yeah I might phone up too. I definitely would have if I didn't get the email, but the details in that seem pretty sure that I've reserved one.
