I know, the only major reason I want to order direct from O2 is so I can keep my cheap insurance i've had for years. Going for a 32Gb i'm not going to feel save walking round London with £600 worth of hardware in my pocket without it!

This - I'm confused.

I have one reserved in the Apple Store, but are we going to be able to use the o2 deal there and then? If not, looks like quite a wait :(

Though I have to admit its a bit of a catch22 situation. I'm sure there's been increased demand direct from Apple simple because the providers have yet to allow any type of ordering. So anyone who is wanting one on the release date have obviously gone straight to Apple to pre-order, even if they initally didnt want to, with the option of cancelling if the providers start allowing orders. Looks like a case of panic buying if I ever saw one!
 
I've looked on the Apple Store and can't find the option of pre order to collect in store, only the pre order to have delivered to my home address. Anyone point me in the right direction? Cheers

Its now totally out of stock in all stores for pre-order
 
None of these contracts are really impressing me price-wise to be honest, I'm tempted to just go on the 1 month simplicity plan for a while and save myself some money.

Call the store where you have it reserved.
Had a very charming conversation with Ellie from the Exeter store where mine is reserved who assured me through looking at her system that my name is on a list and 1 will be available on the day. However, she did say that I should bring in my conformation e-mail and other documentation for the contract purposes.

What she did mention which was a very valid point and certainly one I never took into consideration, is the amount of time needed with each customer upgrading or starting a new contract.
She said it takes about half an hour to process each contract customer, so should the store anyone is collecting reserved phones from have a high volume of contract customers queuing, don't expect the queues to be moving that quickly.
