Get as much deposit as possible.
Why are you financing £18k?
@fox yeah it was indeed a PCP - so i'm still struggling to see how I should move forward - I don't want to look much older than a yearagain re:keeping up with the joneses
To keep it in that "nearly new" range

Infact thats an option - we'll take that £12k Leon I posted earlier, the yellow one. If you bought that and a £250 private plate from the DVLA how will your mates know how old it is?
They wont.
@fox fair enough, I must say it is more than that I do want a car like this a lot! in terms of deposit been offered £2k for my car can put another £3k on top of that
VW all the way!!!!!!

I'd take my £3k, sell my car for £2k, and have a £5k deposit. I'd then get a bank loan for £6-10k giving me a budget of £11-15k. With this I would then buy a VW Golf GTI, a Focus ST or a Seat Leon Cupra* and a nice private plate for £250. I'd then have an ageless, modern, reasonably new hot hatchback, and I'd owe considerably less than the value of the car.
I could then at any time give it all up by selling the car and paying it off, but if I didnt do this, once it was paid off, I'd own the car outright. Win win.
*These are the best all round hot hatches for this sort of money.

ATM this seems a good idea, I think replace those with the Civic and we are on to a winner here![]()
