*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

I thought even if you had a reservation those who reserved are not guaranteed a phone. It's still first come first served! or did I miss read

I'm pretty sure you're correct, that's how I've read the email, hence why I'm going a bit earlier but don't want to be in a situation where I'm there at 08:30 and there's already a queue with 100s of people.

Although I didn't do it myself, going by the 3G launch at Regent Street, near where I work, you will be spending a LONG time queing. It's likely to take you a few hours.

Just spoke with my friend who works for O2 store. He said they are definitely getting black iphones in for launch day, he didnt have definite numbers though. He said at the 3gs launch they had around 50. As for the white iphone, he said they havent heard anything at all about it and it doesnt look like they'll be available at launch.. Not through O2 stores anyway.. If he gets anymore info on them he's going to let me know.

....ing gutted!! Really wanted to get a white iphone at launch! :-(

Call the store where you have it reserved.
Had a very charming conversation with Ellie from the Exeter store where mine is reserved who assured me through looking at her system that my name is on a list and 1 will be available on the day. However, she did say that I should bring in my conformation e-mail and other documentation for the contract purposes.

What she did mention which was a very valid point and certainly one I never took into consideration, is the amount of time needed with each customer upgrading or starting a new contract.
She said it takes about half an hour to process each contract customer, so should the store anyone is collecting reserved phones from have a high volume of contract customers queuing, don't expect the queues to be moving that quickly.

Just called the Apple Store in White City and they confirmed my preorder is on the system. Can't wait for the 24th :D.

Vodafone have just released there prices...best so far..

Much better prices than what Orange have...even the 32gb iphone4 at £65 a mth over 18 mths plus £59 works out to £1229...which is a lot cheaper than the £1489 for Orange on their top tariff with the iphone4 32gb version....thats on the 18mth tariffs.

24mth tariffs for orange it works out at £1829 on Orange again the 32gb version and on Vodafone it works out to £1429...massive difference there....£400:eek:

Still nothing from tmobile though.

Wow, expensive prices, I got my original 3G for £99 on a 18month £35 contract.

It'll now cost me £169 and over 24 months. :(

Yes, the phone is better but so was the 3G when I got it.

Working it out monthly cost which is the only way i can see to compare everything as there is different prices on the 18month and 24month contracts

they all work out about the same with not much more then £1 or 2 in it but vodaphone give you more data.

but orange give you far use data so if you go over its not an instant charge like it would be with the others

Vodafone tariff looks about the best, £269.00 for the 32GB version also, not too bad I guess.

Has anybody heard when '3' are likely to have these available? The website hasn't been updated yet with any details other than 'coming soon'.

There's a quote floating around (Can't find it now) that they're waiting until the big carriers announce their plans to undercut them, much like they did with their iPad plans (They were also the last to announce there).

Hopefully now that Orange, O2 and Vodafone have announced theirs, 3 wont be far behind. Unless they're also waiting for T-Mobile for some reason.

Just spoke to Regent Street if anyone is picking up from there:

1) They're opening early, but he won't say exactly what time other than they'll be open at 8am (could be AT 8am or they'll already be open at 8am)

2) If you've received your reservation email, as far as they're concerned, there's an iPhone waiting for you.

3) Queues are expected to be similar to the iPad launch.

Based on the 8am opening, I'm probably aiming to get there by 07:00.

See you there lol. Do you think 7am is a bit too early? Couldn't you just walk in any time of the day and collect it?

Just to be clear.

If I'm with O2 (happy with the plan etc) and buy a iPhone 4 at the Apple store, can I just either cut down my current SIM or ask O2 to send me a mini SIM to replace it?
