Does anyone have any tips for reducing the amount of hair a cat sheds?
Maybe a supplement I can put in his dinner bowl?

Cluney sheds SO much, it's a pain keeping on top of it. He's always done it but just wondering if I can do anything about it.

My N85 phone (:rolleyes:) is broken, so no recent pictures. But he's lovely :D
 
The best advice I can give you is to groom him regularly. If you groom regularly, then the loose hair are more likely to come off on your brush, rather than on furniture, carpets and other places around the house.

Myself, I wanted originally to get a Maine ****, but once I weighed up the disadvantages (of having hair all over the house), I opted for a Bengal and Egyptian Mau.

ive emailed you a link via trust for a comb called the furminator it thins undercoat hair and reduces shedding by huge amounts.
 
Some very cute cats/kittens in this thread!

Going to view two 8 week old kittens tomorrow morning via a local shelter, think they'll be £40 each and then we'll have to pay for vaccinations and neutering etc. Both boys, one's ginger with tiger stripes, white belly and socks, and the other one a lot lighter coloured apparently.

I've left 5 voicemails with a couple of the Cats Protection League adoption centres and nobody has called me back, quite disappointing really. I know some are manned solely by volunteers, but the site says they're desperate for people to adopt kittens and cats at the moment :(

Indeed. Every single day, many cats/dogs are being put down as:
1. they can't find people to adopt them
2. they can't afford to feed/shelter/take care of the animals

These animals shelters are crying out for potential new owners for these animals.

I guess they don't have time to man the phone lines and regularly check the messages.
 
We got the little guys today I mentioned in the previous post! They seem just about settled in it seems. They've had dinner, played a bit, slept a bit, had a play fight, explored a bit and had no problems at all finding the litter tray. Took a few quick snaps, I'll upload in a mo... :)
