Show us your kitty cats

You need to cut their claws regularly. This is very important for an indoor cat, as otherwise they can end up damaging furniture, carpets, humans, other cats, etc.

I use human nail clippers to cut my 2 cats' (front) claws and have had no problems.

I've tried before, he won't let me.
Last time the vets did it, they can restrain him better than I can, and he's due there next month so will get them to do it.

we don't do ours at the moment (i have the scars to prove it) Hes very good though and only scratches his posts - hes got enough of them and they aren't overgrown so i don't see much point for the time being...

Food wise we've found the best compromise of meat content to price is the IAMs pouches for wet food.

We also give him a Royal Canin Veterinary dry food for the morning meals to help his urinary problems (its not too expensive if you buy a big enough bag on-line)

The pink collared cat is kimi and the other is twinkle. Ill try to get some proper pics of twinkle, when hes near me hes always trying to cuddle me making it impossible ><

If a vet who the cat doesnt even know can cut the claws, I am absolutely positive that you can do it.

The best time to do it, is to catch him when he is sleeping. Sit close to him with the clippers. Stroke him and slowly move your hand over his paws, trying to avoid moving his arms/legs. Do it slowly and don't fight him. Then slowly move your clipper into position and press hard. If he gets distracted by the clipper, allow him to sniff it for a few minutes, dropping it in front of his head/nose. Then try again. Remember one thing, you are the boss, not him. You are in charge - what you say goes. This goes with any pet and must never be forgotten.

Of course, if there are 2 of you, this is ideal, where even if he is fighting you, 1 person holds him, while the others grabs the paw and quickly cuts the claws. If there are 2 of you, cutting the front 10 claws won't take longer than 60-90 seconds.

Good luck.

We have just had a new black kitten. He is just over 8 weeks old in the picture and his name is Jack. The monster next to him is Oscar and he's a year and a half old.

Here they are chilling.
