Troops back from Afghanistan after 6 month tour = Cheers and £15,000 salary.
England team back from South Africa = Boos and £8 million salary.

All I kept seeing was a blanket of green shirts in midfield and no white.

It's going to be difficult again on wednesday can see us going out in another 0-0 or 1-1 or even a loss they will be 5-5 lol that's what most teams seem to be playing just to stop teams scoring.

Our game relies on fast pace and high fitness and when we don't have fitness we are weak.
We don't deserve to go through simple as that, players don't even look fit from what I have seen so far noticed none of our midfield moving around much.

I hope this finally brings a big change in our youth systems so our future generations can pass a ball and have top notch ball control.

Probably the worst England performance I've seen in all my days on the planet.

I just don't understand how they managed to be that bad.

I don't blame Capello at all, I think it's clear this is just these overpaid **** on the pitch.

Don't blame Capello? Are you mad? What on earth is his point if it's not to make the England players a) play their best and b) work as a team? That's why we have a bleedin' manager!

Its obvious Rooney has an attitude problem - it was brought to light in the last world cup but the press didnt vilify him like they did Beckham after France '98 - at least he admitted it in an interview on the bbc recently that he was the reason they lost to portugal. Anyway, he's a poor role model and just proved it all again - the press need to stop bigging him up cos its obvioously going to his head. How he can say that is beyond me - people are paying with their livelihoods to go see england play in SA and all he can do is complain. Suck it up shrek cos you were ****.

I don't blame Rooney at all - at MU he's deployed to his strengths, with Nani, Valencia, Giggs et al. giving him first class service. If United play badly, so does Rooney as he drops deeper and deeper to receive the ball.

The whole England team are far worse than the United one, for example he has a strike partner who can't do the one thing he's asked to - hold up the ball. And then there's Gerrard, who has just had a poor season and looks tired, even without Lampard trampling on his toes.

Then there's the service from the wings. Joe Cole NEEDS to start for the final game, otherwise i'm sure it will be the final game. Get some invention and pace down the wings with a quality ball and he'll come alive.

Yeah his comments about the fans were a little wide of the mark, but at the end of the day England fans are just so utterly fickle and expect far too much of their team. They deserve the boos just as much as the team does.

I would throw my hat in and go for the following:

Hart
Johnson - Dawson - Terry - A. Cole
Lennon - Lampard - Barry - J. Cole
Gerrard
Rooney

If it clearly isn't working at half time, get Lampard/Gerrard off and move back to a 4-4-2 with Crouch/Bent up front with Rooney. As a last throw of the dice, i'd take Rooney off with a quarter of an hour to go and partner Crouch/Bent up front and see what happens.

But if Heskey starts and/or Joe Cole does not, i'll be supporting Slovenia. This team needs a reality check, whatever happens next week.

I actually believe we, the fans, have a lot more passion for the team and the game than the actual players. That was a shocking performance and if we perform like that against Slovenia, we're out. Algeria should have been an easy 3 points and now we have to earn those 3 points against the team I believe are the best in the group after current showing.

Capello. Stop starting with Heskey and bring Joe Cole onto the left.

carrick has to start simple as that I'd even play barry and carrick and drop lampard

james
johnson dawson terry cole
lennon carrick barry cole
gerrard
rooney

That would only result in the rapid decline of the league's standard.

Not necessarily a bad thing though is it...if it helps England get better ie more emphasis on the home grown players to actually improve their skills.

The foreign players are slowly killing english football...compare us to Spain and look at how strong they are plus they are a young team...fair enough they lost to the Swiss but didnt deserve to in all honesty...swiss just got a very lucky goal and spain were desperately unlucky to not get a goal as they had a few shots that hit the bar.

As for Rooney??...bang out of order for his comments about being booed...gotta take the rough with the smooth lad...i just think he was fustrated and said something that he will later regret...hopefully he will apologise because he will alienate himself from the english fans with that sort of attitude.

I think tonight was a victory for the Algerians...on paper they were nowhere close to England...on the pitch they totally out played the English millionaires and must be overjoyed at that fact.

Not in a million years. He's looked totally lost in the last 6 months or so; had Huddlestone not been fat or Scholes had not refused to come out of retirement, he wouldn't have made the squad.

Barry made some good interceptions but needs to learn to actually sit and not try to push forward.

Edit: And Tute, Bent isn't in the squad ;)

Interesting to read that Adidas sent us 25 Jabulani balls to practise with, before the WC, back in February but the FA lost them. As a result we only started using the ball in May where as everybody else has been practicing with it for months.

Who says the FA is incompetent? :p

i feel sorry for the players for once...

The frustration was clear at some points. Algeria had the right set up and right tactics against England.

England need to take stock that we have 1 almost world class player in Rooney and that he isn't being used in the correct way.

USA and Algeria are no push overs for the level the England squad can perform at, Slovenia should be a win but not by a mile.

I don't mind if we go out before the knockout stages because It will put a lot of minds at ease when it comes to our level, some of these players have had since 2002/2004 to do it and it hasn't happened.

Who knows, we beat slovenia 4-0 and we could go anyway in the world cup, there has been no stand out teams so far.

Ireland beat Algeria 3-0 ok it was a friendly but still, Algeria sat back and we couldn't break them down or score which is worrying considering whats left in the tournament.

Tbh it just seems in this WC the 'lesser' teams just want it more, and are now capable enough to sit back and frustrate the better teams - getting the first goal is incredibly important it seems. Meh, we should beat Slovenia - I'd be tempted to start Crouch as he at least seems capable of putting the ball in the net yet has been reduced to 5 minutes cameos in both games.

Capello should ring Shearer, send him on a plane and put him in the team to show that fat useless **** Rooney how to play.

Maybe replacing the whole team with our Under 21s would be best.

I've never in a long time seen such an England team with no passion or determination at all, NOT ANY and i think most people on here would do better seriously.

I can't see us doing anything vs Slovenia and if we do win it probably be due to a red card or a controversial penalty.
