I've just been out the country for a couple of days so catching up on all the recent announcements.

I pre-ordered a 32gb from Apple on the day the pre-orders went up and was going to see what the O2 prices were before deciding if I'd keep it. But now I see you can only get the phone in an O2 shop on the 24th I think I'm safer keeping my Apple order.

So, with that in mind I guess I'll move my contract over to simplicity £20 a month. I see that I can get a micro sim ahead of time by going to an O2 shop with my email confirmation from Apple, however I never got an email to confirm BUT if I go in to my account the order is there and shows as shipping on the 24th.

So, I guess printing my order details from my Apple account will be good enough to get me the sim? Then on the 24th I can just activiate the new sim and have my tariff transfered to a simplicity one.

Thats my understanding from reading through all the info...?!
 
Just spoke to 02 - clever one

people renewing contract FROM IPHONE SIMPLICITY - put yourself on a high tariff to get the iphone 4 free or for 29 GBP on launch day then within 14 days move it down and pay the difference.

All the O2 stores seem to have different ideas of how this is meant to work. I just drove up from Kent earlier today, and I called three stores on the way. Only Crewe actually knew if they had stock or not.

I must say this is rather stressful. If they have priority for current o2 customers why can't they let us order on-line. I might just get a cheap £6.00 phone and manage on that for a month or so till all this silly hype dies down.

Completely agree. I really couldn't care less about having one on launch day I just want to make sure I get the early upgrade offer otherwise I'm looking at paying £300 or something stupid. The question is will they be out of stock for some time after launch?
 
I just checked my bank account and the £500 I paid for the phone is back in my account =\ What's going on? I checked my order and it's still there on the Apple site...

Apple never took the money. They dont take the money until they ship, what you saw was a temporary hold they put on in order to check you had the money and check the validity of your card. The hold automatically gets released after 2-5 working days.

You'll find you'll be charged again before the item ships.

Right, just went to my order and changed my delivery address to the same thing and that seems to have pushed the email confirmation through. And on the off chance that they'll actually be sending them out for thur delivery I've swapped my shift at work so I can be in to recieve it lol

Just need to find time to get to an O2 shop now to get a micro sim!!!

Pay the difference for what? That one month? Any examples of what we would be paying by doing this?
 
difference for the handset

IE if u get it free and wirthin 14 days move down to 35 pm where the phone is worth 119 u pay that.
