SETI@home News Vol. 107 (03/06 - 10/06, 2010)

As I am not running seti at the moment can someone give me an update on the flow of work.

Seems to be ok here.......got 1000's of units GPU (normal & Fermi) & CPU.

On a side note, I must remember..........

When you have a 40" widescreen TV on a rotating arm (attached to wall) as a monitor.......be careful where you put your coffee.

On the plus side.......I got to order a new keyboard and mouse.

Yeah Halz i would say the workload is back to normal. Even if your getting messages relating to quota as someone pointed out on the message boards its linked to your gpu multiplier something or other, so even though my quota was 153 it let me download over a thousand wu's which we reckoned was working roughly on a multiplier of 8.

:D I did the same with a coffee last week Loudbob, but on a positive note out went the samsung and incame a nice for gaming hannsg :D

Thanks for the update bob, careful with the coffee :p, I have one pc running through a 47" first generation LCD, I would need a JCB to move it so it aint going anywhere :p
Time to update that sucker, I really like those super thin LED jobs, especially as they use a fraction of the electricity.

Pending has jumped 25k upto 180k since last night.........so something is going right.

Not bad since my cache was empty on my main rig and both machines have beeen working Collatz (up until last night).

Yeah, I've started looking at the new 3DTV's but it looks like they can't handle PC 3D gaming at 1080p resolutions :D (correct me if I'm wrong).

Hmmmmmmmm.........................

Gaming..............

Well..................

My 9 year old daughter seems to think that the PC (with all it's wonderful GPU's) should be put to use with something more than seti (will she ever learn?) so......

It seems she is after a 3DTV to not only watch 3D TV but to also play games in 3D.

Still trying to get her to settle for the PS3, but it's not working.

Funny, at work everyone has PS3's and I'm trying to covert them to PC's and thats not working either

Mind you, they are not aware of my motivation for doing so ;) (yes Area 51, we do need a devil smiley :D)

Yeah, all the validators are stuck.

Never mind the rubber ring. Berkeley are going to need to borrow some booms from BP when that lot gets let out. No, that wasn't thunder you just heard! :D

Fingers crossed I'll be able to experiment with PC/3D/New Telly come Friday. Sadly whether is works or not I won't be PC gaming on it as it'll be in the front room, and my driving rig isn't allowed in there ;)

Pending now over 150K

Curious ...... I've not got a task all day! This quota thing isn't funny; is the joke over now? Still, I got about an 8 day cache on my machine from yesterday, but am always looking for more.

I rig didnt get anything today but 2 did sorry you didn't get anything theres allways tommorrow :)

Pending 225K

Sadly all my efforts last night were for nothing as it would've only worked had someone not left the plug in.

Perhaps for the best - I'm not sure I could take another Toxic parp! :p

As for the WU situation, it's simple. If there is work available (and there isn't at this very moment), you can get work up to your quota but no more. Getting more work would require the validators to be working.
