*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Are O2 still doing unlimited/500mb data on their simplicity options?

When looking at it online it doesn't mention free browsing on any of the options or give the chance to select it as an additional bolt on.

They used to do this option (im currently on it) ; you now have to get iPhone simplicity to get free web browsing

If i switch from my current o2 contract to the iphone sim only plan on orange now, (already got a PAC) would i be able to change to a micro sim on the same plan after buying the phone direct from apple?

heh, people at work are already selling their 3GS's and buying PAYG iphone 4 for like £500+ - are they mad or is it worth it?

I sold my 3GS last week for over £300 just before they announced the iphone 4 prices but I'm the sort of person who changes phones every 6 to 9 months so whether is worth it or not, I probably sell it on come Christmas.

iPhone 4 set for huge stock shortages?

Apple's forthcoming iPhone 4 release could end in disappointment for a number of prospective customers following reports of production issues.

Analysts are stating that the Retina Display, the new high resolution screen that makes up a large part of the attraction to the new iPhone 4, has been hit by a pretty major hitch.

He notes that it's likely the iPhone 4 production rate will be cut from four million per month to two million, which would obviously have a huge bearing on the amount of phones available for pre-orders.
4 million phones per month  how much does apple makes on each phone...

I think this will probably be the case too.

Vast amounts of disappointed people incoming :p

Still, serves them right for paying the outrageous prices that the iPhone has

For the deal I would want via Orange, I'd end up paying £220 for the phone, then £45 a month.

Madness.

In this day and age I'd be expecting to pay realistically £35-40 for the phone per month (with 1000+ minutes, ultd texts and 1GB net or whatever), and have the phone free for 18 months, maybe 24 if it was dropped a bit.

I have to say that I am really impressed with the demo's I have seen of the Iphone 4. I think it will sell massively... and this delay will only increase the hunger of potential buyers!..

Jobs.. win win!!

Think I may go over to the dark side and get one... even though in the past I have slammed Apple... this product is stunning!

The design is pretty stunning. Better than the plastic that most phones are made of. Doens't help the software though. :p

Anyone worrying about being locked to a network, if indeed the 4's are locked, all the basebands for 3g/3gs and ios 4 have ben unlocked and the same is supposed to happen to iphone 4 with a few days after release, so as long you dont mind jailbreaking/unlocking yourself youll be able to use on all networks.

Indeed, if they tried something a bit new with the software and stopped ripping people off with the pricing, I might have been tempted.

As far as the iPhone 4 is concerned, its beaten in every department by the Galaxy S (Aside from a Flash, which is arguably pointless to have anyway, but would have been nice)

Well you're either getting a Sim Free iPhone or you're signing up for an 18 month or 24 month contract. So it won't really make a difference to people. If they get a contract, they need to stick with them anyway or pay the contract off.

I'm now very tempted to ask someone that I know for an iphone (works in a phone high street strain) from release on Wednesday, just because I know the demand will now escalate to ridiculous proportions.

Indeed, I can see idiots now buying these for upwards of £1000 :(
