tosic has come out and echoed some voices here who said he didnt get a fair chance...

ah well, off to moscow! i hear its a really nice club out there:/:/

not exactly a big surprise - every player who doesnt make it (at any club) state they didnt get a fair chance

Whether its true or not - only a few people really know who have seen what goes on in training day to day

Last time Rooney scored was 9th Sept 2009?

And we are relying on his scoring?

Ronaldo hadn't score before today for nearly 2 years.

Football is a team game, England shouldn't have to worry about Rooney scoring for them.

Where have these free scoring midfielders we see in the Premiership gone?

Get with the program gimp, they are only good because of the great foreigners playing around them. Therefore you would get 20 goals at chelsea for 6 years because of the support around you.

Oh and Rooney isn't world class either he's flattered by class foreigners. The same class players that get slagged off each week. Park, Berbatoss, Anderson, Nani. It must be Giggs, Fletcher, Carrick and scholes then that flatter rooney. Can't work out if ronaldo flattered him or held him back judging by his goals with him and without him.

Out-of-contract Arsenal defender Mikael Silvestre is very close to agreeing terms with UAE side Al Jazeera Abu Dhabi, who are reportedly offering the 32-year-old an annual salary of £4 million. Full story: imscouting.com

He must have the best agent in the world! :D

I am sure I speak for all the Arsenal fans on here and say he will be dearly missed ;)

RUmours this morning that Joe Cole wants to go to Utd, lets ruddy hope so. Do Arsenal need another short, not that fast, injury prone midfielder? no we damn well don't.

AS for defenders, well, it looks like we're signing one(hopefully) and losing Gallas, Silvestre(yippee), Senderos and quite possibly Campbell aswell.

Considering last season we had one two few good enough centre backs, we really need at least two backup CB's and really to actually for the first time in ages, have a 3rd very decent CB as backup rather than going from Vermaelen to Djourou quality if injurys occur.

Sauce on Cole rumours ?

L'Orient have said they're all but resigned to losing Kosxxxxxx (well the manager has). How a second division French side have commanded I'm going to presume around a £10m price fee I don't really know.

With us losing Gallas and Senderos, possibly Sol, and more seeming like Silvestre we're now pretty short at the CB position.

We've supposedly had a word about Jagielka and some other dude aswell, been given the asking price and walked away as they are asking too much. I think Wengers finally realised he's got to buy a lot of players to make the squad competitive but won't want to spend big enough to get enough decent players. We'll probably be lucky to get 2 cb's and a keeper.

Source on Cole thing, is basically every football news site and paper this morning. I really hope so, he'll offer entirely nothing we don't already have, he's got a big ego, won't like being benched, will complain about everything, wants silly wages and will want continuing pay rises throughout the next several years. HOpefully someone else will overpay the little twit.

Although you take that with a pinch

Manchester City are on the verge of tying up midfielder Yaya Toure's £27m move from Barcelona.

The spending spree continues at Eastlands, with Manchester City said to have beaten Chelsea to 24-year-old Spain and Valencia forward David Silva's signature for £29m.

Will City not learn from last season, you can buy players but not a team. It's consistency that bringing rewards.

The Gossip page on the United website has us linked to Alexis Sanchez (£12m), Jesus Navas (£16m) and either a swap with Anderson for Miguel Veloso (worth £16m) or swap Anderson for Mathieu Valbuena.

They've got an interesting stat too...

Running total: 61 in (estimated £1.161billion), 15 out (estimated £174million, including loans and swaps)

Joe Cole on a free would be great

NPower Championship really doesn't have same ring does it :(

It's not that, it's just how the nomenclature is placed.

I'm used to Division 1 downwards. Now we have the NPower Championship and League 1 (which was the old 'Division 2), which caused me to think the French League 1 was their second division. Bizarre connection, have a feeling I'm not the only one who's made this mistake.
