*** The all new iPhone 4 thread - Keep all iPhone 4 stuff in here ***

Am considering doing this too but can be bothered with the hassle of getting to MK.

Shame you cant Ebay the reservation e-mail..... :D

Just got a call from o2 saying I had been pre selected for an iphone for delivery Thursday, managed to talk him into giving me the 32gb for free, well I had to take a 24 month contract but I have been with them for 9 years so can’t see me changing anytime soon. Only thing is I already ordered one on the apple website due for delivery Thursday as well, do you think I would get a good price for it on ebay? or the very least my money back?

have you not noticed them selling at well above RRP on ebay. they are sold out at apple well pre orders untill 14th july everyone wants one

Ok, I'm confused. The following is based on the 300mins contract with a 16GB iPhone 4:

12m Simplicity = £15/month * 24 + £500 simfree iPhone 4 = £860 total for 24m
24m Contract = £30/month * 24 + £179 iPhone 4 = £899 total for 24m

Where is my incentive to get a 24 month contact or have I missed something?

Just had the confirmation email come through telling me the order is being processed ready for thursday delivery.

Cheers

Last night I dug myself a hole when I called someone a troll when in actual fact he was right - so instead I shall say this...

I haven't recieved an email - either you're very lucky or YOU'RE A FILTHY LIAR!!! :p

Wait a min, there are 2 q's for Thursday, one for those who pre-ordered and one for those who haven't, so your telling me even though i pre-ordered i have to wait till 2nd July for my phone, whilst a bum can q up and get one on Thursday???

Pre-ordering = You get it delivered to your door on the date they've given you (2nd July in your case it seems).

Reserving = A seperate queue is going to be made at stores for people who have reserved their iPhone - and they can pick it up in-store

Anything Else = Joining the other queue at the store to try your luck at grabbing one

The incentive is that you only have to shell out £179 for the handset up front instead of £500.

Think of it as a 24 month payment plan with interest added. :p

As far as the microsims are concerned, is it basically a blank sim that you port your phone number and data onto? I use pay and go so im wondering if the microsim with the phone will be a contract sim as thats what my brother uses. Its his contact thats up for renewal but he already bought a new nokia ahead of the upgrade so im getting the iphone.

1. So if I can afford the upfront, 12m Simplicity is the better option?
2. Is that the correct price for a simfree handset, £500?
3. O2 website says they wont be doing PAYG on launch, does that mean I'll need to go to an Apple store for a simfree handset then go to O2 to change my contract?

Wish I hadnt swapped to the micro sim at work as it needs iTunes to activate and its blocked here........ :(

Mine worked straight away.

Request swap on-line got a text my phone stopped working put new sim in all is good.

Less than 5 mins in total

1. Depends how you feel. Do you want the handset cheaper, but be tied in a contract for the next 2 years + some interest added?

2. iPhone 16GB sim free is £500 from apple free delivery. Next expected delivery date is 14th July though for online orders.

3. Yeh they wont be at launch and wont be online until the end of July. Best place right now would be to try your luck at a local Apple store on Thursday if you want it asap.

1. Yup.
2. £500 for 16GB, £600 for 32GB.
3. Yes.

im going to cheat and get handset free on the day and decide what contract with 14days after that LOL and then pay the handset price lol
