My cousin has just recieved hers. Has the reception problem from the link above lol :x currently trying to speak to various Customer services to see what the hells going on, but its basically un-usable when holding the phone anywhere but exceptional signal areas.

Ridiculous. Surely they would see these problems in testing..

The problem is not with reception, but with the signal quality indicator in the software. People with the same software on 3G(S) models have reported the same issue, and also reported having no problems making calls when the signal quality is supposedly terrible.

It's been suggested that it's a problem with iOS4 as the problem also occurs with 3G/3GS handsets running the new software.

Orange think mine should be out on delivery today, latest tomorrow - happy with that :)

My 3GS 16gb is running iOS4 just fine, and with no such issues though.

Oh well, fingers' crossed.

Its not really testing lol. Just tried to make a call, and failed!

Dont think its software, my 3gs is fine with the os4, hers doesnt work properly. Go figure.

I can't replicate this with my 3GS.

EDIT: actually it does drop a bar or two, but you'd expect that. It doesn't drop anywhere near as much as the phone in the iPhone 4 video though (full bars to Searching...). All phones will suffer some loss of signal through a hand. I'll wait until some people I know to be non biased test the phone (ie. not people on forums ;)).

Mine out for delivery. Hope it arrives before 1pm otherwise there was no point me swapping shifts today as I'd have been home around then anyway.

Quickly quickly Mr UPS man. Be interesting to know how many he has on his van lol
